O
n the same day the Lander Chamber of Commerce was kicking off summer with our annual Lander Brewfest, the Wyoming Association of Broadcasters was awarding our brand new radio show and podcast — The Lander Biz Show — with second place recognition in its category of Best Radio Show in Wyoming. This came out of the blue for us. The show isn’t even a year old, and to be recognized by a statewide association of radio professionals is a big surprise; we’re honored and humbled.
The idea for the show sprung from a conversation I had in the fall of 2021 with County 10 owner Will Hill. We were sitting inside County 10’s offices in Riverton trying to come up with a new way to promote the Chamber’s member businesses and organizations. We came up with the idea of having a conversation on the air with business owners and heads of organizations that would position them as experts in their field, thereby encouraging listeners to contact them for their goods and services. It’s been successful so far, even more than I realized now that the show has won an award. I think the show’s real “secret sauce” is the online rapport I have with my co-host, Charene Herrera, the co-host of the popular Jack FM Morning Show; she’s a real pro with many years in the radio business, and she makes me and our guests sound good. More than twenty episodes of the Lander Biz Show have been aired to date. Featured Chamber members include Messenger Girls, Cornerstone Group Realty, Justin Hegwer with Farm Bureau Insurance, Teton Therapy, Crux Coffee, Mountain Vista Retirement Residence, Black Hills Energy, Shoshone Rose Casino & Hotel, Wyoming Life Resource Center, and many more. A Lander Biz Show appearance is an included benefit for Chamber members at our Cultivator Level membership and above; Classic Level members receive a discounted rate to appear on the show. The radio show airs every Thursday on KOVE 1330 AM / 107.7 FM at 5:15 p.m., and every episode is archived at County 10 website. People stop me to tell me they hear the show and that it sounds great. One gentleman told me that he is new to town, and that he relies on the show to learn about available goods and services in the area; that’s music to a chamber director’s — and business owners’ — ears!

Teton Therapy gifts membership to Soldier’s House
The Soldier’s House organization was created by Charlie and Jennifer Wilson to supply free mental healthcare to veterans and their families. As the years have gone by they have done much more than supply free mental health care. Bottom line, their goal at The Soldier’s House of Fremont County, is to seek to support for all Fremont County veterans in many aspects of their lives. Services offered include: Counseling & Walk In Thursdays Free, confidential counseling for post 9/11 veterans and/or their loved ones. This counseling lasts for as long as the therapist and client feel it is beneficial. No limits on number of visits and regardless of discharge status. On Thursday afternoons from 2-6 pm walk-ins are welcome for counseling or to meet the therapist. No appointment necessary. Acupuncture Free acupuncture for veterans on the FIRST Monday of every month from 10 am to noon. Two licensed acupuncturists employ VA approved protocol for PTSD and other health concerns. Walk ins only - NO APPOINTMENT NEEDED CranioSacral Therapy & Healing Touch CranioSacral Therapy (CST) is a gentle, hands-on approach that releases tensions deep in the body to relieve pain and dysfunction and improve whole-body health and performance. Healing Touch is an energy therapy in which practitioners consciously use their hands in a heart-centered and intentional way to support and facilitate physical, emotional, mental and spiritual health. Teton Therapy, a Catalyst-level member of the Lander Chamber of Commerce, recently announced the donation of a year-long classic Chamber membership to The Soldier’s House of Fremont County. Teton Therapy, with three outpatient Physical and Occupational Therapy clinics in Lander, Riverton and Cheyenne, has been a member of the Lander Chamber of Commerce since 2012, and a Catalyst member since 2021. The Soldier’s House of Fremont County’s mission is “to bring supportive and free mental health services to the veterans and families of Fremont County. We work to provide grassroots, community and volunteer driven services to support the success of Wyoming veterans.” According to Teton Therapy CEO Jeff McMenamy, “At Teton Therapy, we recognize and are profoundly grateful for the work done by The Soldier’s House for Lander- and Riverton-area veterans. Gifting a classic year-long Chamber membership allows The Soldier’s House to benefit from the many contributions the Lander Chamber of Commerce makes to the local business community. Ultimately, this helps The Soldier’s House better serve those who served all of us.”
