2023 Membership Survey Out Now It is important for us to receive feedback from our members. 2024-25 Destination Lander Travel & Relocation Guide

Each year the Lander Chamber publishes and distributes thousands of Travel & Relocation Guides to visitors planning their vacations, stopping into the Visitor Center on their way to Yellowstone and Grand Teton, attending one of Lander’s many events, or choosing a new place to live. The online and print versions are *the* local resource for visitors looking to learn about Lander and the goods and services our businesses provide. Save the Date - 2024 Legislative Session Preview Luncheon The Wyoming Legislature will convene its biannual budget session Monday, February 12, 2024 in Cheyenne. Join us Friday, January 26 at the Lander Community & Convention Center to hear from Fremont County’s state legislators on how they plan to deal with Wyoming’s 2025-26 budget.

Summit West Informs on New Data Reporting Law Last month Summit West CPA Group partners Lorielle Morton and Bryan Brown hosted four information sessions at the Lander Chamber on the forthcoming Corporate Transparency Act.

This federal law is set to expand the role of the U.S. Treasury’s Financial Crimes Enforcement Network (FinCEN) to collect and store confidential personal information about small businesses that have 20 or fewer full-time employees and the individuals who ultimately own or control a company, known as the beneficial owners. Failure to

provide completed and updated reports could result in criminal penalties of up to 2 years in prison and civil penalties of $500 per day, up to $10,000.

Morton and Brown cautioned business owners not to submit a report right away (after the law goes into effect on January 1) due to attempts in Washington to delay implementation of the law to give the approximately 32.6 million small business owners (most of whom are ignorant of the new law) more time to prepare.
