PREPARING FOR THE PRIMARY
Sixty-five people—mostly business owners—joined us for the Chamber’s mayoral town hall. We asked business-focused questions drawn from more than 80 survey responses and roughly 150 submitted questions. I opened by acknowledging that some would find the questions too easy and others too hard, but they reflected the concerns we heard most often.
Next, we will host a luncheon on August 14 to share survey data, offer perspective on these issues, and ask for your help communicating them to elected officials. Join us and help continue this important conversation.
On August 18, I encourage you to vote in the primary—and to vote with business in mind. Educate yourself by watching our town hall and the many other forums featuring mayoral and city council candidates.
The work does not end there. As we move toward the general election, we will offer additional opportunities to connect members with candidates and better understand where they stand on privatesector solutions, free enterprise, and Lander’s business climate.
Since returning, the Chamber has also developed a new strategic plan with member input and the support, guidance, and governance of our board. Please take a look at the new direction we are setting to better serve our members and advocate for what strengthens our local economy.

BUSINESS AFTER HOURS SEASON
NOW ACCEPTING APPLICATIONS FOR 2026–2027
We are now building the next season of Business After Hours and inviting Chamber members to apply as hosts. Hosts pay a $500 hosting fee and provide hors d’oeuvres and food. Working with the Lander Ambassadors, we provide beverage service and help coordinate the event.
To be considered, submit your interest to info@landerchamber.org by August 21. We will announce the upcoming schedule in the September newsletter. We typically receive more applications than available dates, so selected hosts will be scheduled first, with additional applicants placed on a waitlist to fill any openings that arise.

Owner: Marisha L. VanVleet, APRN-CNP, FNE, PMHNP-BC
or Marisha VanVleet, opening Silver Sage Psychiatry in Lander was more than a business decision—it was coming home. Her husband's family has roots in Fremont County dating back to the homesteading era, and after his retirement, the family returned to the ranch near Hudson. Today, multiple generations of the family call the area home, and Marisha says they have no plans to leave.
What she loves most about doing business in Lander is the community. "Word of mouth is gold in a small town," she says. "Lander truly has that spirit of people taking care of each other."
Silver Sage Psychiatry is a woman-owned practice providing psychiatric, neuropsychiatric, behavioral health, addiction recovery, and mental health services for patients of all ages. The practice accepts most insurance plans and offers affordable private-pay options to help make quality mental health care accessible.
Marisha believes one of the biggest misconceptions about mental health care is that every provider approaches treatment the same way. Her philosophy is centered on listening, educating, and partnering with patients to create treatment plans together. She believes patients achieve the best outcomes when they understand their options and have a voice in their care.
Silver Sage Psychiatry also works closely with local medical providers, therapists, schools, law enforcement, family services, and other community organizations to provide collaborative, community-focused care.
With more than 30 years in medicine and nursing, Marisha returned to school to specialize in psychiatric mental health, completing her residency during the COVID-19 pandemic before opening Silver Sage Psychiatry in 2021. After serving Evanston and Riverton, she established the practice's permanent home in Lander in January 2025.
Whether serving patients in the office or partnering with other organizations throughout Fremont County, Silver Sage Psychiatry is committed to compassionate, patient-centered mental health care that strengthens the entire community
