A system of recurrence, The temperature dropping External reservoirs freezing, The deceptive opacity gone With all viridescence forgotten, A cyclical loss of canopy Followed by the streams farewell, While the conifers laugh in resilience Observing the deciduous downfall, Unfazed by the absence Sipping their hydraulic cache, Awaiting their verdant brethren.
