Honoring the People Who Make a Difference Everyday at
Brewster Academy
In the fall of 2012, Brewster put out a call for alumni, parents, and friends of the Academy to give to the Annual Fund in honor of those people who made a difference in the classrooms and dorms, on the athletic fields, and in the creative art spaces across campus. Over 200 donors honored current and former faculty and staff members, sharing memories of the impact these individuals had on their lives. Matt Butcher was my soccer coach and a friend. I can’t count how many times Butcher yelled at me to go back to my team’s area because I was hanging out in his English room. Mr. Widman always had sound advice when needed. He was a special kind of man who will always be remembered by anyone who was smart enough to ask for his assistance and would always make time for anyone.
