ceremony. If you have any ideas to celebrate the seniors, Dr. Gemmell made it clear that he is open for suggestions. As expected the community is devastated. Instagram stories of iconic Brewster views flood my personal feed and comments continue to pour onto the Brewster page. Seniors in particular seem to be overcome with nostalgia as it becomes apparent that their senior spring will never be how they imagined. The Spring Trimester will be the never before seen Brewster experience that none of us could’ve ever imagined. There is nothing that would have prepared us mentally for this. So if you are angry or are upset that is totally understandable. But Brewster will always be there when the world begins to heal again. Once a Bobcat, always a Bobcat. The academic building on a quiet campus on April 15.

For the first time in Brewster’s 200 years classes have moved out of the classroom, and into your bedrooms. On April 14th Dr. Gemmell officially announced that due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the student body will not be returning to campus this Spring, thus we will all be continuing online learning for the rest of the year. Dr. Gemmell did not bear this news lightly. In a letter to parents and to the community, he writes, “To say that I am sorry to bear this news is an understatement”. Events like reunion, prom, and the commencement ceremony will be postponed until next year, or will occur as soon as it is safe to do so.
