When Earthborn was founded in 2002, we were looking for a true eco alternative to conventional paints long before most people were talking about sustainability.
From the start, we questioned industry norms, challenged ingredients, and focused on creating paints that were better for people, homes, and the planet without compromising on quality or colour.

Healthier ingredients
Our paints are formulated without harmful emissions and are virtually VOC free. They’re even certified safe for children’s furniture and toys (EN71-3 2019 + A1:2021).

Vegan-friendly, eco conscious formulas paired with recyclable tins (no plastic tubs here!), biodegradable packaging, and recyclable colour cards. Our paint is more than just “water based”, the carefully selected ingredients mean it’s better for you, your home and the planet.

Being kinder to the planet isn’t a trend for us, it’s been part of Earthborn from the very beginning.
Our paints are more than just water based. They’re carefully formulated to reduce impact on both the environment and the people who use them, without compromising on performance, durability, or colour.
All Earthborn paints contain only trace levels of VOCs, meaning there are no horrible smells or lingering emissions. That’s better for indoor air quality, better for decorators, and better for anyone living in the space.

Ultra flat matt, breathable, and velvety smooth. Perfect for older homes, eco builds, and anyone seeking a beautifully flat finish.

Eco friendly trade emulsion
A water based, oil free emulsion that’s built to perform – wipeable, long lasting colour, with a durable, matt finish.

• Ideal for fresh plaster and lived-in surfaces
• Suitable for domestic and commercial projects
Coverage: Up to 12-13m2 per litre
Drying time: First coat touch dry in 1-2 hours. Recoat after 4 hours
Silicate Masonry Paint
Breathable exterior paint
A highly breathable, mineral-based exterior paint that protects while allowing buildings to breathe.
• Highly breathable Sd value = 0.01m
• Soft matt finish
• Covers up to 5-7m2 per litre
• Gentle on traditional materials and perfect for exterior renovation work
• Excellent coverage, with rich opaque colour
• Weather resistant, easy to clean
• Naturally helps to resist algae and mould
• Must be used with one of our primers

Our classic colour card and swatches, as well as our 100ml sample pots, are made using real paint from the big tins – so you know exactly what you’re getting*

A water based primer for use on interior wood, melamine and MDF, creating the perfect base coat before painting.

Isolating Primer
With a water based formulation, it’s perfect for priming and sealing stains before overpainting.

Bonding Primer
Wall Glaze
Diluting provides a breathable, protective glaze when applied on top of our interior wall paint. Can also be used before painting to stabilise powdery interior surfaces.
Coverage: Up to 50m2 per litre (diluted)
A versatile water based primer for interior and exterior use. Can be used as part of the Earthborn Silicate Masonry Paint system, or for internal use, apply before Earthborn Claypaint to even out differences in surface absorbency.
Coverage: Up to 4-7m2 per litre
Silicate Primer
Silicate Masonry Paint system
For use on uncoated mineral surfaces. When used with Silicate Masonry Paint it will create a highly breathable and permanent chemical bond.

Silicate Masonry Paint system
Furniture Wax
A soft, water resistant wax designed to protect natural wood and painted surfaces.
Coverage: Up to 50m2 per litre
Wallpaper Paste
A high quality, water soluble wallpaper paste that is both acrylic and fungicide free.
Coverage: 100g mixed in 5 litres of water covers 26m2
Pigments
Fade-resistant pigments that can be mixed with Earthborn paints, glazes, clays, and plasters to colour, tint, or create custom shades.
