WHY IS THE CHURCH OF THE BRETHREN IMPORTANT TO YOU?

The Church of the Brethren is important to me for many reasons, but especially because of its emphasis on serving others. I attend Brethren Disaster Ministries work camp with the MidAtlantic young adults every summer. Every time I have attended these work camps, the families we help are always appreciative of us volunteering our time and give us volunteers so much love. My love for serving others comes from the Lord and that is one of the ways that I see Him working in my life every day.

WHAT IS ONE OF YOUR FAVORITE SCRIPTURES? WHY?

One of my favorite scriptures is 2 Timothy 1:7 NKJV, which says, “For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” This scripture means a great deal to me for several reasons, but it tells me that God has blessed all of us with confidence. If we call on Him and open our hearts to Him, we have no reason to fear or be anxious. If we embrace the Lord’s presence, we can rest in the fact that He will bless us with His never-ending love.
