Please make checks payable to The City of Oakley (Return check fee of $57.00 will be automatically charged to the liable guardian or participant of said activity) As the parent/guardian of a minor participating in the City of Oakley’s Recreation Programs, Field Trip and Services, I recognize and acknowledge that there are certain risks of physical injury. This Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement is intended to discharge in advance the City of Oakley, the Oakley Union School District, the Liberty Union High School District and its officers, employees, volunteers, and agents from any and all liability arising out of or connected in any way with myself or my child/ward’s participation in said activity, even though that liability may arise out of negligence or carelessness on the part of the persons or entities mentioned above.

It is further agreed that this Waiver, Release and Indemnity Agreement is to be binding on my heirs and assignees. Such items include: e-mail addresses, photos and press releases that include statements made by myself or my child/ward in publication of said activities. In the event of any emergency, I authorize City Officials to secure from any licensed hospital, physician, and/or medical personnel any treatment deemed necessary for my minor child’s immediate and emergency care if it be deemed to sustain life. Join us for four classes of easy-to-follow beading projects! Projects include bracelets, necklaces, and earrings. We will complete a project each week so you will be able to wear home a new piece of jewelry that you made that day! No complex tools will be used. Older teens may choose to join the adult beading class after this introductory class.

BIDDY SOCCER Age: 3-5 years old Location: Summer Lake Park Instructor: Biddy Sports Biddy Sports is like no other program! Boys and girls ages 3 – 5 years, will learn the fundamentals of the sport and develop social skills in a fun, safe, and family-oriented environment. The class provides a non-competitive introduction to team sports where children can participate at their own level and ability without keeping score. Each one-hour class includes a fun group warm-up, practicing with their team, and playing a game. The time may vary from week-to-week, but your child will always play on Saturday at either 9:30 or 10:30 a.m. Parents get involved by volunteering to coach their child’s team. All training is provided and no experience is required. You can volunteer when you register your child. The T-Ball registration deadline is April 15 and the coach’s meeting will take place on Sunday, April 19, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. The Soccer registration deadline is August 12 and the coach’s meeting will take place on Sunday, August 16, 6:00 – 7:30 p.m.

ONLINE DRIVER’S EDUCATION Age: 15 years old and up Location: Online Instructor: Erika Vieyra Are you tired of asking your parents and friends for a ride? Are you at least 15 years of age? If so, this class is for you! This is an interactive, online course with videos, animated driving scenarios, and sample test questions. Learn the rules of the road, major causes of traffic collisions, DMV procedures, and much more. Receive a DMVapproved Certificate of Completion which is required for teens under 17 ½ years of age in order to obtain a learner’s permit and driver’s license. SKYHAWKS BASKETBALL Age: 6-11 years old Location: 501 Norcross Lane Instructor: Skyhawks Sports Academy This fun, skill-intensive program is designed for beginning to intermediate players looking to take the next step in basketball. Participants learn the fundamentals of dribbling, passing, shooting, rebounding, and defense, in addition to the rules, strategies, and play-calls of the game. Our age-appropriate drills and games teach young athletes skill development in addition to vital life lessons including leadership, teamwork, and sportsmanship. At the end of this six-week session, your child will show you why this is one of our most popular programs.

This basketball class offers players the opportunity for 3 on 3 or 4 on 4, half-court games without the commitment of a league. Have fun while getting a great aerobic workout! Some “blackout dates” for school functions apply.

This is a popular team sport with an emphasis on FUN! Get together with old friends and make new ones in this social activity. Teams consist of 4 – 8 players and will play two games per week, three if time permits. Games are scheduled for Tuesday evening or Friday afternoon. Each team captain must submit a team roster and each team member must complete a registration form.

Tai Chi and Chi Gong are ancient Chinese forms of exercise for everyone. Studies have shown that practicing Tai Chi and Chi Gong can help improve balance, reduce stress, relieve pain, lower blood pressure, stabilize bone density, slow aging, improve memory, and aid in physical therapy. The movements are slow flowing with deep breathing designed to generate positive energy for well-being. No experience is necessary.

In this beginning quilting class you will create a shaggy quilt in just eight weeks! This class will take you through the quilting process where you will learn to cut, assemble, and sew together colorful squares in your choice of fabric! Be prepared to have “sew” much fun you will want to come back for more! A supply list will be provided at registration.
