Edward ‘Mickey’ Tully, Jr. Edward ‘Mickey’ Tully, Jr., is a seventy-nine year resident of East Brentwood. Born in Lakeview, New York, Mickey moved to East Brentwood at six months of age and graduated from Bay Shore High School in 1954. A 35-year employee of the New York Telephone Company, Mickey retired in 1991. An active member of the East Brentwood Fire Department for sixty-two years, Mickey has served as a Lieutenant, Captain, Assistant Chief and Chief of the Department. He currently serves as a Commissioner of the East Brentwood Fire District, a position that he has held since 1986. Serving as a Suffolk County Deputy Fire Coordinator since 1986, Mickey remains very active in the firefighting community. He is an active member of the Suffolk and Nassau Law Legislative Committee, the Islip Town Fire Chiefs Association, the Islip Town Volunteer Fireman’s Association, the Suffolk County Fire Chief’s Association and serves as the President of the Islip Town Firefighters Museum. He was the first recipient of the Frank Ombreski Gold Medal Memorial Fire Coordinator Award in 2015 and the Suffolk County Fire Chief of the Year Award in 2011. Married to his wife Barbara ‘Susie’ Tully for fifty-three years, they have two children: Edward J. Tully III, and his wife Michelle Tully, and Robin Tully-Wessels and her husband Peter Wessels. In addition, they have three grandchildren: Jennifer Barnes, Jessica Tully and Sean Tully.
