DEAR NOTRE DAME COMMUNITY: This year’s NDJournal is dedicated to one of the most cherished traditions of our Notre Dame family—legacy. In this issue, we celebrate the deep roots and enduring spirits of generations who have embraced the Notre Dame mission and Mercy Core values.

One of the most moving traditions of our graduation ceremony is when our alumni, legacy parents, present diplomas to their children. From the stage of the CURE Arena, I have the privilege of witnessing this poignant moment each year. Often, I see tears in the eyes of parents as they hand over a diploma that represents, not only academic achievement, but also the continuation of a deeply personal family legacy. It is in these quiet moments that the impact of Notre Dame is most beautifully expressed across generations.

As I begin my seventh year as President of Notre Dame, I am continuously reminded of how deeply valued a Notre Dame education is. I frequently find myself in the company of alumni and I am always inspired by the pride, gratitude, and love that they have for our school. It is a testament to the powerful role that Notre Dame plays in shaping lives and the lasting relationships that are formed here.

This has been a remarkable year for Notre Dame. We look forward to welcoming one of our largest freshman classes in recent years this fall. The growing support of The Fund for Notre Dame, the increasing number of President's Club members, the establishment of two new endowed scholarships, and the enthusiastic launch of our Boosters program are all signs that the spirit and strength of our Notre Dame legacy are alive and thriving.

As you read the stories of today’s students and the reflections of our alumni, I hope that you will feel how I do: a deep sense of joy and gratitude for the generations who have built—and continue to build—this extraordinary community.

May God, through the Holy Spirit, continue to bless our Notre Dame family as we send forth young women and men who are ready to make a difference in the world.

LETTER from the Principal

DEAR PARENTS, STUDENTS, AND FACULTY: As we bring one school year to a close and prepare to embrace a new one, my heart is filled with deep pride and gratitude. At Notre Dame High School, we are more than just an academic institution — we are a community rooted in love, faith, and a shared commitment to helping every student grow into the person they are meant to be.

This past year has been one of remarkable momentum and meaningful accomplishments.

As we look ahead to the 2025–2026 school year, I’m excited for the new opportunities, programs, and relationships that will continue to move us forward, together.

At the core of our mission is a belief that every child can learn, grow, and thrive. It is both our calling and our privilege to provide each student with the tools, guidance, and encouragement they need to succeed — not just in academics, but in life. Through differentiated instruction and strong academic foundations, we are committed to meeting students where they are and helping them soar.

This year, we are proud to expand our Advanced Placement (AP) course offerings and further grow our dual enrollment partnerships with colleges, giving students more opportunities to earn college credit while still in high school. We are further developing new college and university partnerships to open additional doors for our students. We continue to broaden our academic pathways allowing us to include more diverse areas of study and career exploration — from STEM and the arts, to business, health, multimedia, political science, and beyond.

At Notre Dame, we also know that education is more than textbooks and tests — it is about relationships. We are devoted to walking alongside our students and families with compassion, responsiveness, and care.

It is one of the greatest honors of my life to lead this beautiful school and to witness the daily joy, resilience, and faith of our students. Every child who walks through our doors deserve to feel safe, supported, and celebrated, and we are committed to making that a reality, every single day.

Thank you for trusting us with your student’s education and growth. Together, let’s make the 2025–2026 school year one of deep connection, joyful learning, and shared purpose.

CELEBRATING THE POWER OF TRADITIONS

There‘s something profound about attending the same school where your father once played under the Friday night lights, where your mother dazzled on the Performing Arts stage, or where a grandparent once sat in the very same classroom. That connection to the past gives students a sense of belonging that transcends academics or athletics.

It is a feeling of coming home.

Each year, a continuing tradition among students is choosing to follow in the footsteps of their parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, and siblings—returning to the school that shaped the lives of those they love. For these families, Notre Dame is more than a school; it is a shared experience that binds generations together. Notre Dame‘s 649 legacy families, and counting, stand as a testament to enduring tradition, family values, and generational connection—a powerful reflection of the school‘s lasting impact.

For many legacy families, Notre Dame represents far more than a school—it is a spiritual and educational foundation that ties generations together. “We‘re proud to say that three generations of our family have graduated from Notre Dame High School,” the Rotondo-Gill family noted. “Being part of such a long-standing legacy ties our past with our children‘s future and continues to build on our foundation of faith.” The Malloy family supported that sentiment, sharing “Faith and service have been cornerstones of our family’s traditions – that were strengthened at Notre Dame. Three generations of our family have attended the school, beginning with Deacon Joe Malloy ’61, a member of Notre Dame’s inaugural graduation class. Each of us felt welcomed, and our time at ND helped shape our values while providing a high-quality education.” Diane Kelly ‘70 Gregory added, “My family‘s connection to Notre Dame spans generations. The Auletta, Graziano, Griffith, Kelly, Gregory, and now Foley families have proudly walked its halls. That legacy continues with Maya Foley, Class of 2026. Notre Dame has helped shape each generation of our family—with shared values, strong faith, and a lasting sense of community.”

These deeply-rooted family ties are reflected not only in stories of faith and foundation, but also in the many shared experiences that define life at Notre Dame. Academic achievements, proms, Kairos retreats, service projects, extracurricular activities, and graduations are not only personal accomplishments, but also continuations of a cherished legacy. “At Notre Dame, family legacy isn‘t just a tradition..." said Diane Kelly ’70 Gregory, "it is a thread woven into the very fabric of the school‘s identity and its future.” For legacy families, Notre Dame has a profound and lasting influence. Shared milestones and new beginnings become meaningful threads woven into a family‘s story. The legacy tradition at Notre Dame is about more than nostalgia—it is about the joy of shared experiences, the pride of shared accomplishments, and the hope that future generations will continue to carry the torch.

Among these meaningful traditions, graduation stands out as one of the most treasured milestones for many legacy families. “Graduation has always been our family‘s most cherished memory,” reflected Diane Kelly ‘70 Gregory. “Each of us—myself, my children, and now my grandchildren—have celebrated those unforgettable moments surrounded by classmates, teachers, and friends who became like family.” That moment became especially meaningful in 2024, when Diane and her daughter, Kelly Gregory ‘92 Foley, presented Max Foley ‘24 with his diploma—a true full-circle celebration of family and legacy.

For many families, graduation holds some of the most powerful memories, especially when one of their own family members addresses the class as Valedictorian.

The Malloy family recalls the pride they felt when Chase Davino ‘21 delivered her valedictorian address: “Her penny speech honored our father, father-in-law, and grandfather, Deacon Joe Malloy ‘61.” The Stout family shared a similar moment of pride when their son Timothy ’92 was named Salutatorian. “The speech he made was exceptional, and he made us very proud,” they remembered fondly.

While these major moments are unforgettable, it is often the simple, shared traditions that make Notre Dame feel like home generation after generation. The Rotondo-Gill family reflected “It is also fun to share stories from our own time in the halls of ND and see how much of the spirit and tradition has remained the same across sixty years. The laughter, the lessons, the school spirit, and the lifelong friendships-these memories connect us all.” The Malloy family cherishes these shared experiences as well, recalling “stories from each generation, including pictures of our parents and grandparents who appeared in each other‘s yearbooks long before they were married. Notre Dame brought us all together.” Reinforcing this sentiment, the Foley family emphasized that “our favorite part of Notre Dame is, without a doubt, the community. It is something you can‘t fully understand unless you‘ve lived it. The sense of belonging, support, and connection is unlike anything we‘ve experienced elsewhere.”

Reflecting further, the Foley family noted that the teachers are incredibly special—not only in how they teach, but also in how deeply they care, taking the time to know each student. Across generations, they‘ve shared some of the same teachers—those who taught Diane also taught Kelly, and those who taught Kelly have now taught Max and Maya.

That kind of continuity says a lot about a school. When teachers choose to spend their entire careers at Notre Dame, it speaks to the strength of the community and the lasting impact they have on generations of students.

For the Malloys, that sense of community is rooted in both tradition and progress. “Academic rigor should be maintained along with the welcoming family environment, designed to care for the whole student,” they emphasized.

“We hope that Notre Dame continues to serve families for generations to come and that each individual gets to experience the wonderful faculty, staff, and students.”

This commitment to balancing tradition with growth reflects Notre Dame‘s legacy families, whose deep roots enrich the school culture and inspire support. Their family legacy fosters community connections, alumni involvement, and a strong network. Alumni who return as parents often understand Notre Dame‘s mission and become volunteers, mentors, coaches, and advocates.

That influence goes far beyond academics. Legacy families help preserve the school‘s core identity—one grounded in faith, values, and a commitment to personal growth.

“Notre Dame taught us to respect ourselves and others,” the Stout family reflected. “They showed us how to accept God and follow in His path in our own way. I feel the education then and now is outstanding.”

These connections offer students a sense of continuity and stability in an ever-changing world. The legacy tradition at Notre Dame serves as a powerful reminder of the school‘s enduring Mercy Core Values—Service, Compassion, Justice, Integrity, and Respect—passed down not only in classrooms but around kitchen tables, car rides home, and graduation celebrations. “I believe a Catholic education instills values that are essential for personal development,” shared a Gill family member. “It builds a strong moral compass and teaches the habit of prayer—not just as a practice, but as a lifelong spiritual tool.”

“It is also a time of deep reflection—on spiritual growth, lifelong friendships, the guidance of mentors, and the countless memories made along the way,” the Gill family shared. “As a student, there‘s nothing quite like the joy and emotion of senior year. As a parent, your heart overflows with love and pride. And the tradition of handing your child, now an alum, their diploma is simply unforgettable.”

That spiritual growth is especially nurtured through experiences like Kairos. “Kairos is transformational,” said Danielle Rotondo ‘88 Gill. “One of my most cherished memories is receiving a letter from my dad during my retreat. Years later, writing to my own children during their Kairos trip brought everything full circle.”

Danielle reflected on the lasting power of friendships formed at Notre Dame, noting how her father remained close with high school friends his entire life, supporting each other through challenges and joys—leaving a lasting impression on her. She said, “I was incredibly lucky to find the same kind of friendships during my own time at Notre Dame. Thirty-seven years later, those are still the friends

I turn to, laugh with, and lean on.” Now, as her children enter adulthood as young alumni, she observes the same pattern; “They‘re forming deep, lasting bonds with friends who truly support and understand them—and I know those friendships will carry them through life, just as mine have.“ Others echo the same sentiment. “After 57 years, I am still in contact with quite a few of my classmates,” remarked Dena Sutton ‘68 Stout. “Nothing beats that!” Kelly Gregory ‘92 Foley agreed: “The friendships I formed at Notre Dame are still my very best friendships today. They‘ve stood the test of time, and I know the same will be true for my children.”

Today‘s students bring fresh energy and talent to the same hallways their parents and grandparents once walked, writing new stories while honoring the old. For new students just beginning their journey, the Stout family offers this heartfelt advice: “Enjoy your time at ND. Study hard and give it all you‘ve got. You will make memories and friends to last a lifetime.”

So, whether your generation used chalkboards or smartboards, read from textbooks or collaborated on project-based learning, received handwritten report cards or logged into real-time classroom portals, passed notes in class or sent texts between bells—every era holds stories that echo through the halls of Notre Dame. While the tools and technology may change, the stories of school spirit, lifelong friendships, and transformative teachers remain the same.❖❖

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to the legacy families who generously shared their stories, memories, and reflections. Your experiences keep the spirit of Notre Dame alive and continue to inspire future generations to carry on the tradition.

These families are truly special, as they not only represent a legacy of dedication and service, but also embody three generations of their families who have proudly called Notre Dame their home.

COMMENCEMENT Class of 2025 The Notre Dame community gathered on Sunday, June 1, 2025 to celebrate the 65th Annual Commencement Ceremony for the Notre Dame Class of 2025 at the CURE Arena.

The event was attended by family, friends, administration, faculty, and staff, along with Dr. Vincent de Paul Schmidt– the Superintendent for Catholic Schools in the Diocese of Trenton, Bonnie Clawson ‘96 Milecki–Assistant Superintendent, School Development and Operations, and John Tattory ‘83–Notre Dame Board of Governors Chairman.

careers at a collegiate level. In line with the Notre Dame Mercy Core Value of Service, the graduating class has completed 26,289 hours of community service over their four years of high school.

On Saturday evening, a Baccalaureate Mass was held in the Notre Dame Auditorium, celebrated by our Chaplain Father Colavito, assisted by Deacon Rich Hobson.

Additionally, special awards were presented to students at the graduation ceremony, including the Award for Excellence in Religion—Ellie Marrone, the Principal’s Award—Riley Carr, and the Irish Spirit Award—Carter Hillsdon, all of which recognized students‘ outstanding contributions to the school community.

The Class of 2025, a testament to the collective effort of the Notre Dame High School community, has exemplified dedication and commitment to the Mercy Core Values, education, and resilience, resulting in exceptional academic, artistic, service, and athletic achievements. Their success, a reflection of the unwavering support of their teachers, families, and the wider school community, is a shared victory we all celebrate.

The class was recognized for its outstanding academic strengths, securing over $38 million in scholarships.

Special recognition was given to Valedictorian Michael Anthony Busa and Salutatorian Meghan Anne Connolly for their exceptional academic achievements and leadership.

The pair shared words of wisdom about life and their time at Notre Dame.

Above all, the Class of 2025 has demonstrated exceptional character and values, embodying kindness, empathy, and a genuine commitment to positively impacting the world around them. As they transition to the next phase of their lives, we urge everyone to keep them in their thoughts and prayers.

CLASS OF 2025 Legacy Graduates WHAT IS A LEGACY FAMILY? — Legacy families refer to families with multiple generations of graduates or a long-standing history with the school. This could include parents, grandparents, or even great-grandparents who attended Notre Dame, as well as siblings who have passed through its halls.

The concept often extends beyond alumni status to encompass a deep-seated connection to the school's traditions, values, and community, frequently shown through continued engagement, such as volunteering, financial support, or participation in school events.These legacy families play a significant role in perpetuating the school's culture and fostering a sense of continuity and shared heritage among past, present, and future students.

NOTRE DAME HIGH SCHOOL STUDENTS ACHIEVE EXCEPTIONAL AP SUCCESS IN 2025

Notre Dame High School is proud to announce an outstanding year for its Advanced Placement (AP) program, with students achieving remarkable results on the 2025 exams. An impressive 91% of Notre Dame students scored a 3 or higher on their AP exams, exceeding the school's strong performance of 85% in 2022.

This significant rise in pass rates is even more impressive considering the large increase in participation.

The number of AP tests taken by Notre Dame students in 2025 has jumped by 41% since 2022. Notre Dame students greatly exceeded the passing percentages not only in NJ but in the United States overall. This reflects the rigorous academic environment at Notre Dame, which not only prepares students to surpass national pass rates but also encourages them to challenge themselves with more advanced courses.

Mrs. Mary Joan Olszewski ‘72 Maruca retires after 20 years in the Leprechaun Shop and Front Desk.

Dr. Ellieen Ingbritsen retires after five years as the Service Learning & Diversity and Inclusion Coordinator.

MRS. MORGAN WRIGHT ‘06 WALTER RECEIVES YEARBOOK DEDICATION Notre Dame seniors dedicated the 2024-25 yearbook to Mrs. Morgan Wright ‘06 Walter.

Mrs. Walter has been a dedicated faculty member in the Math Department for 11 years. She has also been a National Honor Society Moderator for several years.

Throughout this time, she has positively impacted the lives of many students, parents, faculty, and staff.

Representing the Class of 2025, Keira Tinney shared glowing praise for Mrs. Walter. She spoke for the whole class, saying, “You are so much more than just a teacher, you are a mentor, a number one supporter, and a true source of inspiration.“ She concluded her heartfelt speech saying, “I will carry everything you‘ve taught me, both in and out of the classroom, forever. Your impact will be felt for years to come, and I am endlessly grateful to have had you.”

NOTRE DAME WELCOMES NEW DIRECTOR OF COLLEGE PLACEMENT Mr. Antoine Hart joins Notre Dame as our new Director of College Placement.

Antoine has a robust background in college admissions and is dedicated to fostering a culture of inclusivity and support. His extensive experience includes significant roles at Bespoke Education and The Lawrenceville School, where he has successfully guided students through the complexities of the college admissions process.

At Bespoke Education, Antoine’s strategic vision included creating tailored webinars, enriching student experiences, and establishing vital connections. As the Associate Director of College Counseling at The Lawrenceville School, he skillfully mentored cohorts of seniors and juniors, ensuring personalized support through the college application process and organizing engaging community outreach programs.

Beyond his professional achievements, Antoine is an avid basketball fan and is passionate about community engagement and developing young athletes. ❖❖

NEW VP OF ENROLLMENT MANAGEMENT Notre Dame welcomes Ms. Lauren Cortese as our new Vice President of Enrollment Management. Lauren brings extensive experience and a proven track record of success in Enrollment Management. A Princeton native, Lauren has devoted her career to improving student recruitment and retention through innovative strategies and effective community outreach.

Previously serving as the Assistant Director of Admissions at The Peddie School, she demonstrated exceptional leadership by successfully guiding applicants through the admissions process and increasing enrollment.

At The Lewis School of Princeton, Lauren tripled admission revenue by building strong relationships with prospective families and implementing targeted recruitment initiatives. Her proficiency with various digital tools enhances her ability to manage admissions operations efficiently.

A Luminous Legacy: NOTRE DAME’S CANDLE ROSE CEREMONY The spirit of leadership at Notre Dame High School shone brightly at our Candle Rose Ceremony, a cherished annual event. A SPIRITUAL MILESTONE On April 16, 2025, Notre Dame High School celebrated a significant spiritual milestone during its Holy Week Mass. Nine students received their Sacraments through the Order of Christian Initiation of Adults (OCIA) program, a unique offering of Notre Dame. This Mass in anticipation of the great feast of Easter marked their deepened commitment to faith and was a joyous occasion for the entire community.

A JOURNEY OF THE HEART: NOTRE DAME’S COMMITMENT TO SERVICE IN ACTION In a powerful display of Notre Dame‘s core values, ten students and four chaperones embarked on a transformative week-long mission trip to the Appalachian Mountains in Rutledge, Tennessee, in May. What started as an idea to impact students through service blossomed into an experience that truly epitomized the institution‘s commitment to service, compassion, justice, integrity, and respect.

The service trip was led by religion teachers Mary Torpey ‘12 and Mr. Greeley with dedicated chaperones Mr. Treacy and Ms. Rigney, and accompanied students Josh Sandoval ‘26, Tyler Javick ‘26, Nick Angiolino ‘26, Patricia NazarioLugo ‘26, Cara McCarthy ‘26, Christopher Graham ‘26, Max Pelzer ‘26, Riley Miracola ‘26, Jack Wright ‘26, and Marissa Bercy ‘26 on this impactful journey. The group departed from Notre Dame at 6 a.m., eager for the adventure ahead.

From the moment of arrival, the trip was an adventure.

Joe Grosek, the director of Glenmary Farm volunteers, explained the farm‘s unique purpose: it "grows people."

This proved true for every participant, as the experience fostered profound personal growth. The students learned about the Glenmary missionaries‘ vital work in areas with limited Catholic presence, where they establish relationships, nurture communities, and ultimately transition new Catholic parishes to local dioceses. The group also had the humbling opportunity to attend Washburn Baptist Church, where they sang Amazing Grace with the welcoming community.

The week was filled with enriching experiences, including communal meal preparation on a limited budget, reduced screen time, hiking, engaging with locals, journaling, reflection, laughter, and even intentional "wasting time" together – all of which contributed to a holistic and immersive experience. At the heart of the trip was dedicated

service. Students diligently mowed lawns, painted, powerdrilled, and delivered meals, showcasing the unwavering willingness that embodies the spirit of Notre Dame.

One particularly poignant moment occurred after a day of work for Vivian Ann, a homesteader with whom the group formed a deep connection. Students tended to her large garden, repaired her deck, and performed various other tasks. Jack Wright ‘26, tirelessly mowed a significant portion of her property. Reflecting on Vivian Ann‘s immense gratitude, Jack humbly stated, "I didn‘t even think about stopping," highlighting the selfless dedication of the students. Later in the week, the group returned to Vivian Ann‘s, bringing her two new pairs of shoes, milk, and her favorite, Mountain Dew, further demonstrating their compassion and commitment.

The students were not only providers of service but also recipients. They listened to the stories of the locals and gained a deeper understanding of their way of life, where many live off the grid with limited access to water and electricity. Despite these challenges, the group was consistently welcomed into homes and even shared meals prepared by their hosts.

For several days, the Notre Dame students walked alongside those living in poverty, embracing a simpler way of life. The mission‘s overarching goal was to provide an eye-opening experience that allowed students not only to serve but also to grow in all of Notre Dame‘s Mercy Core Values. As Patricia Nazario-Lugo ‘26 eloquently articulated, "The Glenmary trip gave me an entirely different view of helping others. It taught me to help others without expecting anything in return." The profound impact of the trip has inspired hopes for a return to Glenmary in the upcoming school year. The mission trip truly exemplified Notre Dame‘s core values, leaving an indelible mark on all who participated. ❖❖ FALL 2025

MOVED by Mercy DIVERSITY COORDINATOR: MS. CYNTHIA SABOGAL Notre Dame High School is proud to introduce our new Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) Coordinator, Cynthia Sabogal. Cynthia has been a valued member of the ND faculty for the past five years, serving as a dedicated Spanish teacher and a 2025 Teacher of the Year. She has built strong connections with her students, fostering an inclusive and supportive learning environment. Beyond her teaching duties, she has also made significant contributions as the moderator for our Mock Trial, Future Educators, and Paws for a Cause programs.

As the DEI Coordinator, Cynthia will foster genuine connections by promoting a sense of meaningful inclusion where everyone feels truly part of the community. She will continue to build a trusting environment where individuals feel safe sharing ideas, taking risks, and being vulnerable without fear of judgment or exclusion. She will incorporate intentional behaviors such as inclusive leadership, mentorship, celebrating diverse voices, and inclusive decision-making into your daily routines. With her passion for empowering students and her commitment to promoting diversity, Cynthia will strengthen our school’s culture of belonging, ensuring that every voice is heard and valued. ❖❖

SERVICE COORDINATOR: MS. MARY TORPEY ‘12 Mary Torpey ‘12 has been an integral part of our school for the past four years, serving as a dedicated Religion teacher. Mary demonstrates faith in her daily life, inspiring her students to engage deeply with their beliefs and community. In addition to her teaching role, she serves as the moderator for the Soup and Scriptures Club and the Culinary Club, where she encourages students to make a positive impact through service. As a regular KAIROS facilitator, Mary not only understands the importance of faith and our Mercy Core Values but also embodies them.

As the Service Coordinator, Mary’s mission is to share the teachings of Christ by coordinating opportunities for students to serve others with compassion, humility, and justice. The Service Coordinator fosters a culture of faith in action, guiding students to live our Catholic Social Teaching through meaningful service that strengthens both their character and their community. With her passion for community involvement and her spirit of giving, Mary will lead our service initiatives and inspire our students to make a difference. ❖❖

The Gibilisco Family Legacy in the PERFORMING ARTS For decades, Lou and Debby Gibilisco have been the heart of Notre Dame‘s Performing Arts Department. The Gibilisco‘s dedication to teaching, directing, and mentoring has shaped countless students‘ lives and enriched the school‘s vibrant artistic community. Their children Louis (Gigi) Gibilisco, Jr. ‘07 and James Gibilisco ‘10 have even followed in their footsteps.

Lou Gibilisco has taught at Notre Dame for 35 years, leading Madrigal and conducting Jazz Band and Concert Band.

Debby Gibilisco, celebrating her 30th Fusion performance, teaches Dance Intermediate and Dance Performance. She shares her passion for liturgical dance, emphasizing how Catholic education allows students to “praise God through dance.” For Debby, dance is "freedom of expression and a way to communicate my heart."

Together, Lou and Debby are the driving force behind Notre Dame‘s annual musical. They recently celebrated their 35th production, Les Misérables, a resounding success that drew in alumni, students, and families. Lou cherishes these connections, noting, “It is always fun to see alumni come back.”

The "Mr. and Mrs. G" influence extends far beyond the stage. Alumni consistently express profound gratitude. Liliana Hindy ‘24 shared, "Mr. and Mrs. G were much more than my mentors; they were the heart of my performing arts journey." She credits Debby with helping her build her confidence. Christian Ellwood ‘23 stated that they taught him "success thrives on discipline and passion."

The Gibilisco legacy is a testament to their unwavering commitment. Their decades of impact have not only enriched the lives of students, but have also woven a vibrant thread through Notre Dame. THE MOORE FAMILY NOTRE DAME’S ATHLETIC LEGACY

At Notre Dame High School, the name "Moore" is a testament to a multi-generational legacy of excellence woven into the very fabric of the institution. Spanning three generations, the Moore family embodies an unparalleled commitment to athleticism, leadership, and community, leaving an indelible mark on Notre Dame's history.

Chappy Moore, a legendary football coach, whose strategic brilliance and unwavering dedication transformed the Notre Dame gridiron and laid the foundation of this remarkable legacy. His innovative coaching methods and passion for the game earned him numerous accolades, cementing his place in Notre Dame High School and Mercer County sports history. Chappy’s influence extended far beyond the field; he was a mentor, a leader, and a beloved figure within the school community.

In the early 90s, following in his father Chappy‘s footsteps, Bill Moore, II ‘93 continued the family‘s athletic tradition as a talented quarterback for the Irish. With a potent arm and an innate understanding of the game, Bill led the offense with distinction, adding another chapter to the Moore family‘s sporting achievements at Notre Dame.

Now, the third generation, Wyatt Moore ’25, a dynamic wide receiver, is writing his chapter into the history books of NDHS football. His athletic skills and dedication ensure the Moore name remains synonymous with triumph and distinction on the field. Wyatt's dedication to continuing the family legacy shows in his choice to advance his football career at the Division I level at Stonehill College. While reflecting on his family's deep roots at Notre Dame, Wyatt shared, “It feels great, especially when I’m getting ready to

play in a locker room dedicated to my grandfather, Chappy.

It is pretty cool to be able to play and just be a part of that legacy and carry it on.”

The Moore family's impact extends beyond the athletic fields. Elsie Moore, recently inducted into the Notre Dame Hall of Fame, taught at the school for 30 years alongside her husband, Chappy. Her dedication to education and the school community paralleled Chappy's athletic contributions, solidifying the family's pervasive influence. Elsie beautifully articulates their unique bond with the school: “Our son and grandsons grew up running around the ND halls from the time they were born. ND has been our 2nd home for these last 49 years. There is something very special about Notre Dame. It is very hard to explain or to put into words, but there is an attachment. When you say ‘The Notre Dame Family’, it is not just a cliché.”

Notre Dame remains committed to advancing a disciplined, fiscally responsible budget to its teachers, families, and students each year. FRIENDS OF IRISH BOOSTER CLUB Friends of Irish Booster Program—a revitalized effort to bolster support for our athletic community. The revamped Boosters' mission is to raise critical funds to support the Athletic Department's budget and provide enhanced opportunities for our student-athletes and coaching staff.

FUNDING GOALS OF THE FRIENDS OF IRISH BOOSTER PROGRAM: Competitive Opportunities: Enable our student-athletes to participate in out-of-state tournaments, exposing them to elite competition and broader athletic exposure.

Coaching Development: Offer professional development opportunities for our ND coaching staff, ultimately benefiting the athletes through improved training and mentorship.

On October 11, over 200 ND alumni and family members came out to reconnect and cheer on the Irish to a fantastic win.

The Notre Dame community welcomed our alumni back to campus to join us as we celebrated Thanksgiving Liturgy.

Over 150 alumni visited with us to give thanks for all of God‘s blessings.

MEMORIAL MASS On November 3, the Notre Dame community gathered in the Chapel to memorialize our departed alumni, faculty and staff.

The names of those who passed since our last Mass were read aloud.

HANDBAG BINGO/CASH BINGO BINGO is always a sell-out. Ladies and a few gentlemen gathered in the Student Center on November 17 and February 9 for a night of fun and games.

ALUMNI SOCCER GAME [top right] On November 22, we welcomed 75 of our soccer alumni for an informal game on the turf. It was a great way to spend a few hours together with former classmates and friends before Thanksgiving.

GRANDPARENTS DAY [bottom left] On April 11, we welcomed back our grandparents. Over 300 grandparents joined us for Mass and breakfast with their grandchildren. They always have such a lovely time and never want to go home.

We honor those who exemplify the qualities of leadership, citizenship and service, and are role models to Notre Dame students.

On May 3rd, more than 100 guests gathered at Mercer Oaks Golf Club to recognize five distinguished individuals who embody Notre Dame’s mission and spirit. We are proud to congratulate the newest inductees into the Notre Dame Hall of Fame. Your dedication and service to Notre Dame’s mission have enriched and inspired our school.
