Letter From The Editor
ust leaf through the pages in this issue of The Breeze to read about the happenings here on the hill and to see what Cottagers have been up to these past few months. Remember the family New Year’s Eve party? Or Streaming Sundance? Or Winterfest? We’ve got a recap of those events and more. Plus, we’ve got plenty of photos that pay witness to the great life style we enjoy here in Buck Hill. But what impressed me most about the content of this issue is the number of stories that detail how residents are involved in service to others: the 5K event sponsored by Community Services raised funds for distribution to nearby charities; the Ladies’ Holiday Luncheon collected donations for C.A.M.E. our local food pantry. Then you will be moved (and impressed) to read about two Cottagers—Susan Ketigian and Mary Cairns—who volunteer their time helping those in need. Indeed, our community takes seriously the mandate of making a difference in the lives of those less fortunate. Well done Cottagers. Stay well.

Amy & Jerry Fritz
Festive Night
The polar vortex couldn’t stop the traditional Christmas Eve Caroling, but it did move participants inside the beautifully decorated Tennis Tea. Cottagers gathered to sing together with jingle bells and twinkling trees.

Jerry, Amy, and daughter Lily live in Bucks County, so they are not far from Buck Hill and hope to spend as much time as possible enjoying their new cottage. The family also includes three grown sons; the eldest two with young families. The Fritzs own and operate a family-run landscape design/ install company based in Bucks County with all three sons involved. Jerry discovered Buck Hill several years ago when he was retained to install a garden for a Cottager. In 2021, he was hired by another Cottager and returned to work once again on a property this past fall. A recent catastrophic hurricane caused extensive damage to Sanibel Island, where the family vacation home is located—luckily their house was spared. But they decided to purchase a cottage at Buck Hill to have another more convenient and closer getaway. Other than his obvious gardening interest, Jerry is an excellent tennis player. Amy looks forward to socializing with new friends away from the hustle and bustle of her normally hectic schedule. Lily attends a daily life skills young adult program, and has quite a busy social and Special Olympics sports schedule. Their sons all enjoy the peace and quiet of
A Good Cause
The annual Ladies Holiday Luncheon was a smashing success with both record numbers and donations!

Organized by cottager Beth Goldwater, the Christine Shirley Boutique returned to BHF giving attendees a chance to check off names on their holiday shopping list. Beth provided entertainment as she sang songs from her album Vintage Holiday, and everyone enjoyed a delicious meal at the Fairway Grille. Proceeds from both the silent auction and generous donations totaled $9,300 for our local food pantry C.A.M.E. It was a wonderful start to the holiday activities in Buck Hill Falls.
