New public artwork unveiled in Dereham

As part of the final stage of the Queen Mother's Garden refurbishment in Dereham a new piece of public art has been unveiled and a time capsule buried for future generations. The Lord-Lieutenant for Norfolk, Lady Dannatt MBE, revealed the new bronze artwork, entitled 'The Gift'. The artwork was created by international sculptor Mitchell House and concept designer Susan Ashby. The artwork sits on a carved oak plinth produced by Paul Downs.

A 50-year time capsule has been buried within the gardens, filled with letters, newspapers, and other commemorative items selected by the children of Dereham Church Infant and Nursery School.
