A week-long theatre course culminating in a spectacular performance on Friday 2 August at the Carnegie.
From Monday - Thursday, young people from Thetford, aged 8 - 18, will be gathering at the Carnegie from 10am - 4pm to work with industry professionals on their “Midsummer Theatre Takeover”.

This week-long course will then culminate in an unmissable performance on Friday 2 August.

Midsummer Nights Dream Performance
6pm - 7:30pm @ The Carnegie
Catch an unmissable performance of the Shakespeare classic at the Carnegie, staged by local young people and developed through a series of workshops throughout the week. Tickets can be purchased here or from the Carnegie for £2 pp. Don’t miss it!
Friday Nights on the Market Place
5pm - 9pm @ The Market Place
Come along to Thetford’s historic Market Place to enjoy fun family activities with Tiger Events, Toy Den, and Balance & Beats; alongside a street food market selling everything from hog roast with Dainty’s Kitchen, to burgers with Winter Catering; waffles & milkshakes with Flipping Marvellous, to cakes with Olivia Bakes. There is something tasty for everyone down at the Market Place.

Saturday inThetford offers everything from film nostalgia on The Green, to free entry to the town’s top attractions, alongside some outstanding public music, and the screening of a locally produced youth-led film about “Grimes Graves”.

Nostalgic Afternoon: Screening of nostalgic comedy “Bill and Ted”
From Riverbanks to Birdsong: Join us on an exploration of Thetford’s rivers with the British Trust for Ornithology (BTO), Thetford River Group, and Environmental Group. Through guided walks, discover local biodiversity and witness firsthand river clean-up efforts, culminating in visits to the BTO Headquarters. Hourly drop-in sessions.
