Dalle ore 9.30 alle ore 14.30 i Passi Campolongo, Falzarego e Valparola saranno chiusi al traffico motorizzato per regalare ad ogni appassionato l'emozione di pedalare sulle strade protagoniste del Giro d'Italia e della Maratona dles Dolomites. L'evento non è competitivo, è gratuito e con libero accesso a tutti i ciclisti di ogni livello.

Si raccomanda la percorrenza in senso antiorario.

Ultimate sportive nutrition guide: carb-loading before a sportive In the week leading up to your sportive, it’s important to taper – doing less volume in your training – in order to reach the event rested and ready to ride, but you’ll need to think about your food intake as you approach the big day too. This has traditionally meant eating plenty of carbs in the last few days in order to fill muscles with glycogen in advance of the ride.

You can supplement carb-rich food like pasta with sports drinks to avoid bloating.

For breakfast on the morning of the big ride – two or three hours beforehand – we normally talk about up to 2g per kg of body mass.

Basically, that's two sets of breakfast – porridge with toast as well – doubling up what we'd perceive as a normal breakfast serving. You could use energy drink along with a large serving of cereal or porridge if you didn’t want to eat quite as much.”

Setting alerts on your cyclecomputer to remind you of feeding intervals can let you concentrate on riding.

One of the big mistakes people make is to hold off on the energy drinks and gels a bit too late. Generally, even with your maximum loading, you probably only have enough glycogen stores to last you for about 90 minutes, but you certainly don't want to be waiting until you're getting close to that point. The longer you can preserve you own glycogen stores, the better you tend to feel.

You want to get into your ride and settled into your rhythm, but generally, take a gel or bar within 30-40 minutes and keep that regular feeding going as you go along, so that you're hitting about 60g of carbs per hour. That often means one or two isotonic gels per hour plus what you're drinking. Some electrolyte drinks take care of carbohydrate and electrolyte together.

Sports nutrition products are designed to just give you the elements of the food that you need in quickly absorbable form. So of course you can eat a jam sandwich or whatever it might be as you go around, but you'll also have some fibre and some fats combined in there as well that are all going to slow down the absorption. Sticking to sports nutrition and avoiding temptation at feed stations can keep your guts and muscles happy even if your taste buds aren't always satisfied.

If you put food into your stomach, it will be pulling some blood supply to help with digestion away from the working muscles. If you do overeat then you're either going to end up robbing your muscles of some of the oxygen they need to do the exercise or you'll end up with cramps in your stomach because you're struggling to digest it.

Save caffeine for when you’re flagging. As the ride drags on, the legs and mind invariably suffer, but having a bit of caffeine can really help freshen you up on the way to the finish.

Caffeine can help keep you going when your mind and body are fatiguing. If you're riding for over four or five hours, caffeine is something you definitely want to look at to avoid that fatigue element. Caffeine is purely there to trick your brain into thinking you're not as tired as you actually are.

Questo significa, tradizionalmente, mangiare molti carboidrati in modo da fornire l'adeguata quantità di glicogeno ai muscoli. È possibile integrare alimenti ricchi di carboidrati, come la pasta, con specifiche bevande sportive, gel, barrette. Per la prima colazione, due o tre ore prima dell'evento, normalmente si consiglia di assumere fino a 2g di carboidrati per kg di massa corporea. Si potrebbe, per esempio, bere un energy drink insieme a una grande porzione di cereali o porridge.

Durante la gara vi consigliamo di impostare alcuni avvisi sonori sul vostro ciclocomputer per ricordare di alimentarsi a intervalli regolari, un piccolo trucco per evitare di perdere la concentrazione alla guida. Uno dei grandi errori che in genere le persone fanno è quello di consumare le bevande energetiche e i gel un po' troppo tardi. In generale, anche con la vostra massima carica, probabilmente avete riserve di glicogeno sufficienti per pedalare circa 90 minuti. Se desiderate quindi rimanere energici e pedalare a pieno regime, prevedete di consumare un gel o una barretta entro 30-40 minuti e di mantenere un'integrazione regolare in modo che si assumano circa 60g di carboidrati all'ora. Questo significa assumere uno o due gel o barrette isotoniche ogni ora, più bevande contenenti carboidrati ed elettroliti. I prodotti per la nutrizione sportiva sono progettati per fornirvi solo gli elementi necessari in forma rapidamente assorbibile.

Certo, si potrebbe anche mangiare un panino imbottito, ma oltre alla scomodità di portarlo con se, non potrebbe comunque contenere lo stesso quantitativo di fibre e alcuni grassi combinati presenti in alcune barrette ed avrebbe un assorbimento molto più lento.

Evitate di abbuffarvi nelle zone ristoro. Seguite una tabella alimentare con gli adeguati prodotti nutrizionali, i vostri muscoli saranno felici anche se le vostre papille gustative non saranno sempre soddisfatte! Se vi alimentate con cibo inadeguato, vi servirà un buon apporto di sangue per aiutare la digestione il che finirà per derubare i muscoli della parte di ossigeno di cui hanno bisogno per fare l'esercizio e vi ritroverete con i crampi allo stomaco. Proseguendo l'allenamento a lungo, vi consigliamo inoltre di consumare qualche integratore contenente caffeina che può aiutare a mantenere il ritmo al quale state andando quando la mente e il corpo sono molto affaticati. Questa sostanza è in grado di ingannare il cervello facendogli credere che non siete effettivamente tanto stanchi. Se siete in sella da più di quattro o cinque ore, la caffeina è qualcosa che sicuramente vi aiuterà a rinfrescarvi e a ritrovare energia immediata. Vi invitiamo comunque ad approfondire l'argomento con un medico o un nutrizionista prima di partire con l’assunzione di qualsiasi integratore
