HAND-BUILDING POTTERY: SCULPTURAL FORMS
A great beginner’s course for those with clay experience looking for exposure to new forms and decorative techniques, and for artists wanting to delve deeper into the secrets of a pottery studio. Get comfortable with hand-building clay through an everchanging variety of exercises and projects designed for a diversity of skill levels. Each class features a specific project and structured demonstration of technique, which students then execute with hands-on assistance from the instructor/sculptor Liz Beavers. Your vision becomes your next artistic masterpiece! Fee provides tools, supplies, 25 lbs of clay; bring a towel and mask.

RAKU-FIRED CERAMICS WORKSHOP
Raku is an exciting, fast firing process that produces beautiful and one-of-a-kind surfaces. Make wheelthrown and hand-built raku pieces and experience this unique firing technique. On the first Saturday, we will throw and sculpt our pieces. On the second Saturday, firing will take place. Your work will be fired quickly, removed from the kiln red-hot and smothered with combustible materials that create beautiful crackle patterns and flashes of color in the glaze. Register early; limited enrollment. Prior basic ceramic experience IS required. Fee includes clay/supplies; bring a bag lunch. Basic ceramic experience IS required. No Class April 2. Firing rain date is Sunday, April 10.

BEEKEEPING FOR BEGINNERS
Honeybee populations have been on the decline since 2006. Fortunately, becoming a beekeeper has gained significantly in popularity. You can do your part to preserve the honeybee, the most important insect responsible for pollination of our food crops, by becoming a beekeeper yourself! This class gets you started as a beekeeper. Take part in discussions and hands-on training that includes producing honey and selling it on the local market.

NEW ADVANCED MEAT PRODUCTION
Building from what you learned in the Local Meat Production class this spring, you will explore the processing of red meats, focusing on the breaking of whole carcasses of beef and pork into individual cuts. In addition, you will be introduced to the complexities of meat processing equipment. And finally, a Saturday offering will include hands-on training, working with a butcher to break down a whole lamb carcass, and you get to take home the meat!
