JORDI BORJA

Jordi Borja Sebastia (Barcelona, 18 de junio de 1941) es un geógrafo urbanista, y político español. Es licienciado en Sociología y Ciencias Políticas, diplomado en Geografía y Máster en Urbanismo Es profesor en la Universidad Abierta de Cataluña (UOC) donde es responsable del Área de Gestión de la Ciudad y Urbanismo de la UOC y desde el 22 de diciembre de 2012 Presidente del Observatori DESCDerechos económicos, sociales y culturales- ubicado en Barcelona Militante del Partido Socialista

Unificado de Cataluña (PSUC) desde 1962, estuvo en el exilio desde 1961 a 1968. De 1968 a 1972 fue profesor de sociología urbana en la Universidad de Barcelona y, de 1972 a 1984, de geografía urbana e instituciones territoriales en la Universidad

Autónoma de Barcelona Entre 1969 y 1970 fue vocal de la Sociedad Catalana de Geografía.

Fue miembro del Comitè Central del PSUC y del Partido Comunista de España (PCE) y responsable de política municipal y movimientos populares del PSUC de 1974 a 1981 Fue elegido diputado en las elecciones al Parlamento de Cataluña de 1980 por el PSUC, teniente alcalde en el Ayuntamiento de Barcelona, también por el PSUC de 1983 a 1995 y vicepresidente ejecutivo del Área Metropolitana de Barcelona de 1987 a 1991

Desde el 22 de diciembre de 2012, Jordi Borja es Presidente del Observatorio DESC de Barcelona sobre Derechos económicos, sociales y culturales.

Jordi Borja Sebastia (Barcelona, June 18, 1941) is a Spanish urban geographer and politician. He has a degree in Sociology and Political Science, a diploma in Geography and a Master's in Urbanism. He is a professor at the Open University of Catalonia (UOC) where he is responsible for the UOC's City Management and Urbanism Area and since December 22, 2012 President of the DESC Observatory -Economic, Social and Cultural Rights- located in Barcelona

A member of the Unified Socialist Party of Catalonia (PSUC) since 1962, he was in exile from 1961 to 1968. From 1968 to 1972 he was a professor of urban sociology at the University of Barcelona and, from 1972 to 1984, of urban geography and territorial institutions in the Autonomous University of Barcelona Between 1969 and 1970 he was a member of the Catalan Society of Geography. He was a member of the Central Committee of the PSUC and the Communist Party of Spain (PCE) and responsible for municipal politics and popular movements of the PSUC from 1974 to 1981. He was elected deputy in the elections to the Parliament of Catalonia in 1980 for the PSUC, deputy mayor in Barcelona City Council, also for the PSUC from 1983 to 1995 and Executive Vice President of the Barcelona Metropolitan Area from 1987 to 1991.

Zaida Muxí Martínez (Buenos Aires, 1964) es arquitecta y urbanista licenciada en la Facultad de Arquitectura, Diseño y Urbanismo (Universidad de Buenos Aires), doctora por la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Sevilla1 y profesora en la Escuela Técnica Superior de Arquitectura de Barcelona. Es codirectora junto a Josep Maria Montaner del Máster Laboratorio de la Vivienda del Siglo XXI de la Universidad Politécnica de Cataluña. Colabora en el suplemento Cultura/s de La Vanguardia.
