Vail Veterans Program is resolute in its mission to provide innovative and transformational programs for wounded veterans and family members. Since 2004, more than 5,000 participants have come to Vail to rebuild independence and confidence, strengthen family connections, and discover a new normal. Our adaptive recreation programs facilitate physical, mental and emotional healing from visible and invisible wounds of war. This Fourth of July, we honor the courageous women and men who protect our country. We’re grateful to Bravo! Vail, Vail Valley Foundation, Vail Resorts and all of our donors and volunteers for their steadfast support of our mission. Happy Independence Day!
ANNE SOKOLOWSKI, NARRATOR
Retired US Army Captain Anne Sokolowski is a first-generation Asian-American who knows first-hand the wounds of war after serving 13 years as a Special Ops Intelligence Officer in the Middle East. She sustained multiple injuries during high-stakes missions, and also served as a caregiver to her husband who was injured in 2020. After the military, Anne developed product and technology strategy for Meta. Currently she is the director of product at a defense technology startup building AI-enabled systems for the U.S. military and its allies. As a disabled veteran, military spouse, and alumna of the Vail Veterans Program, she champions healing, transformation, and empowerment for those who have served—and those who stand beside them.
