WEATHER & LOCATION LOCATION Branson is centrally located and is within at day’s drive of one-third of the US population. We are located in southwest Missouri in the Ozark Mountains and surrounded by three beautiful lakes. Getting to Branson is easier than ever since the arrival of the Branson Airport in 2009 (15-20 minutes from downtown Branson) and only 45 minutes away is the Springfield-Branson National Airport.

WEATHER FACTS: Branson is near the geographic center of the United States, so we enjoy relatively mild winters.

January and February are referred to as Branson’s “Hot Winter Fun” season; snowfall is infrequent and daily high temperatures average 45° F (7° C).

As the days warm up in March, April and May, “Ozark Mountain Spring” comes to life with abundant dogwoods, redbuds, wildflowers, tulips, daffodils and forsythia in bloom. Daily high temperatures average 66° F (19° C) during these months, so the days are perfect for hiking a nature trail or attending one of Branson’s many springtime festivals.

June, July and August days are warm — perfect for swimming or skiing — but not unbearable. The average high temperature in the summer is 87° F (30° C).

The heavily wooded mountains and hills surrounding Branson and the Lakes Area are known for their fabulous autumn colors, brilliant shades of red and gold, throughout the months of September and October. The slightly cooler temperatures — daily highs average 75° F (24° C) — and lower humidity make this an ideal time of year for being outdoors and enjoying golf outings on our many area courses.

The Branson/Lakes Area transforms into a festive wonderland during the months of November and December, featuring lighting displays, dazzling Christmas shows, theme parks in all their holiday glory and numerous special events. And, of course, you can’t forget some of America’s best options in holiday shopping. The Christmas season is generally mild and winter weather is infrequent.

THE HIGHLIGHTS The Branson Convention Center, managed by Hilton Worldwide, is the crown jewel of the $490 million Branson Landing development project.

Located within view of beautiful Lake Taneycomo, the stunning Branson Convention Center’s unique design makes it an ideal location for a diverse range of events and gatherings — from national and regional trade shows and conventions, to religious symposiums, corporate meetings, public expos, and large-scale entertainment events. With the capacity to accommodate up to 4,500 attendees at a time, the Branson Convention Center is an exciting and powerful addition to an area that already attracts nearly eight million visitors a year.

THE HIGHLIGHTS All aboard the Branson Scenic Railway, Branson’s most classic attraction! Located in old downtown Branson at 206 East Main Street, Branson Scenic Railway offers nostalgic excursions into the backwoods of the Ozark foothills. Travel on vintage stainless steel equipment from the late ‘30s through the ‘50s. Three cars feature dome seating that gives the passenger a panoramic view of the countryside through which the train travels.

All of the cars are climate-controlled and a live narration highlights points of interest as well as a description of each piece of equipment. Visit the galley in the Silver Lake for sandwiches, snack items, and soft drinks. Guests are encouraged to walk from car to car to see how each one is unique. Dinner trains run Saturday nights at 5:00PM April through the first of November.

Jim has been featured on many national television shows including the Late Show with David Letterman, who described him as “one of the most popular acts in Branson, Missouri.”

Whether it’s his wacky singing Chihuahua Chico Pete, his cute but not so cuddly Baby, his hilarious impression

of “Austin Powers”, or his mind-boggling Barber & Seville routine where Jim actually becomes his own “dummy”, you’ll laugh yourself silly when Jim takes the stage and performs.

The show finale is an unforgettable heartfelt, magical multimedia tribute to Veterans. Many audience members have described this performance as the most powerful Veterans tribute they have ever seen anywhere!

Lake Taneycomo was formed with the completion of Powersite Dam in 1913. Originally apart of the White River, though it is now technically a lake, it retains the look and feel of a river. Taneycomo’s water now comes from the bottom of Table Rock Lake, making it a cold-water lake. The cold, clear water, stocked annually with approximately 750,000 rainbow trout, makes Taneycomo a world-class trout fishery.

Ralph Foster Museum at College of the Ozarks, known as the “Smithsonian of the Ozarks” contains over three stories of large collections, including Native American and early American artifacts tracing the history of the region, the original Beverly Hillbillies car from the television show, wildlife dioramas and art galleries of area work.

The Tractor Museum at College of the Ozarks features the implements that made life a little easier in the Ozarks, including tractors and other pieces of farm machinery.

Veterans Memorial Museum has more than 2,000 exhibits, including the world’s largest war memorial bronze sculpture featuring 50 life-sized statues storming a beach. The names of the men and women killed in action in WWII, Korea, Vietnam, Persian Gulf and recent conflicts of the 20th century are displayed on the museums walls.

I am a tour guide service offering 3-hour area history tours for individuals or groups. I will bring transportation if your group does not have its own. I also offer meet & greet services and full-time escorting of groups, as well as speaking engagements at luncheons or dinners. This can be done in costume portraying a historical figure from Branson’s past.

No group is too big or too small. All services can be customized to fit your needs, such as photo stops and lunch. Walking tours are also available in Historic Downtown Branson.

CONVENTION SERVICES Once you decide to bring your program to Branson, then the real fun begins! The Branson/Lakes Area CVB is devoted to making your event a big success. While we are not a replacement for your hotel conference service or catering manager, our bureau can assist with a variety of services to enhance your group’s experience. Please take advantage of the services listed below.

ENTERTAINMENT RESOURCE — one of the top reasons meeting planners select Branson is because of the wide range of entertainment options.

We can put you directly in touch with our Branson entertainers, if you would like to have them perform at your event.

WELCOME LETTERS — from the mayor of Branson, and/or the President of the Convention and Visitors Bureau, letters are customized for your program to be included in your registration materials.

COLORFUL BRANSON LETTERHEAD — is available for your use to promote your event.

SAVE THE DATE POSTCARDS — with photos of Branson on the front and the back is blank, these postcards are ready to be imprinted with your message.

HOT DELEGATE DEALS — We will create a customized web page with deals and discounts to local shows and attractions for your attendees to enjoy when they’re not in session.

WELCOME BAG PROGRAM — These poly bags include a current show and attraction guide, a vacation guide, a local map, outdoor guide and a Branson pen. The bags are large enough to hold your registration materials as well! (Please allow four weeks for assembly.)

INFORMATION TABLES — For groups of 300 or more, a table with helpful resources can be set up for your group that includes maps, vacation guides and information on our shows and attractions.

PROMOTIONAL MATERIALS / MEDIA SUPPORT — Boost attendance and build excitement about coming to Branson by showing a destination video, Power Point presentation or passing out printed materials at the meeting or convention that precedes your trip to Branson.

REGISTRATION STAFFING — We can provide professional registration staff at a very low hourly rate. These staff members will also be extremely

knowledgeable about the Branson area, so they can answer any questions your attendees may have about how to get the most out of their visit to Branson.

CENTRAL HOUSING — This service comes in handy should your group need to secure room blocks at more than one hotel. We will build a website just for your group to make their reservations on-line. We also provide live, toll free call-in reservation support. (There is a small processing fee for this service, which is usually added to the guest room rate.)

GROUP RECOGNITION AT SHOWS — Should you decide to take 20 or more of your attendees to a show, most Branson entertainers will add a special touch to show their appreciation for your attendance by recognizing your meeting or convention by name during their performance.

DIGNITARY WELCOME SPEECHES — If you would like to kick off your conference with a personalized welcome message delivered by one of Branson’s local dignitaries, we will be happy to line up a city official, chamber executive or local VIP to briefly speak during your opening general session, extending a warm welcome to your attendees.

CITY-WIDE CONVENTION SHUTTLE SERVICE COORDINATION — For those groups using multiple hotels and who prefer to have their attendees shuttled back and forth between the convention site and their lodging, we can assist with creating schedules/timetables and plotting the most efficient routes.

ADDITIONAL RESOURCES — Every group has special needs or unusual requests and we are here to help. Need to arrange a spousal program?

Book a golf outing? Hire guest speakers or an entertainer? Arrange a tour of some industry-related facility? Is it time to order flowers? Find a printer or a photographer? We can offer suggestions, advice and provide lists of suppliers. We can also point you in the right direction, should you need to secure licenses, special permits and any other services.

THE HIGHLIGHTS The 44,000-square-foot Branson RecPlex is a state-ofthe-art sports and recreation complex that has become a popular destination for national sports events.

Since opening its doors in 2005, the Branson RecPlex has hosted 12 national sports tournaments including both boys and girls USSSA World Series events and AAU National Championships.

The RecPlex has also been home to over 100 state and regional events in baseball, basketball, volleyball, swimming, tennis and martial arts. With manicured fields and clean, spacious gymnasiums, the Branson RecPlex is the perfect fit for any sports contest.

The outdoor facilities on this 42-acre complex include four baseball/softball fields designed for competition and tournament play include 200-person bleacher seating

per field, warm-up areas, ticket booth, concession and restroom facilities. In addition, two large multi-use soccer fields with bleacher seating and concession and restroom facilities accompany the fields. The center includes 2 fullsize basketball or volleyball courts. The gymnasium features wood floors, glass backboards, practice goals, a divider curtain, electronic scoreboards and clocks and permanent bleacher seating. Other amenities include locker rooms, a lounge area, concessions and a game room.

The 12,250-sq.-ft. AquaPlex sits adjacent to the RecPlex and features 6 lanes for lap swimming and competition and large water slides.

The Branson/Lakes Area has three pristine lakes, Table Rock, Taneycomo and Bull Shoals, with more than a thousand miles of natural shoreline. Table Rock and Bull Shoals were just named in the “100 Best Fishing Lakes in the U.S.” by Bassmaster magazine. Water sports enthusiast can swim, water ski, wakeboard, tube, boat, sail, scuba dive, jet ski, parasail, kayak and of course, fish. The lakes’ water never freezes welcoming visitors all year-round.

Table Rock is nationally recognized as a top bass fishing lake. Large numbers of largemouth, smallmouth, Kentucky spotted bass and white bass thrive in its diverse underwater structure and immense forage base. Bass, crappie and large bluegill are caught in abundance. Catfish of all sizes also roam the lake bottom.

Accessible from Branson Landing in downtown Branson and at multiple points east, Lake Taneycomo was formed with the completion of the Powersite Dam in 1913. Taneycomo’s water now comes from the bottom of Table Rock Lake, making it a cold water lake. The cold, clear water, stocked annually with approximately 750,000 rainbow trout, makes Taneycomo a world-class trout fishing lake.

With 100,000 acres of city, state, federal and privately owned forest conservation, wildlife, wilderness and park areas available to visitors for adventurous exploration in every imaginable form. With the city limits of Branson, guests can hike the trail at the 1,574-acre Ruth and Paul Henning Conservation Area. The 130-acre Lakeside Forest Wilderness Area offers three hiking trails, a cave and view of Lake Taneycomo. Missouri’s 1.5 million-acre Mark Twain National Forest offers visitors a wealth of outdoor recreational opportunities in and around nearby towns.

Typical of the Ozark Mountain terrain, caves, streams, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, grasslands, forests, steep rocky hillsides, bottomland and glades make up the breathtaking topography of the Branson area. It is this unique and challenging topography that makes area trails and golf courses so interesting and enjoyable in every season.

In 2011 the White River Valley Trail system opened with 11.75 miles of natural surface, rugged trails ideal for hiking and mountain biking events.

The White River Valley Trail was recognized with the 2011 Coalition for Recreational Trails award in the Multi-Use Management and Corridor Sharing Category.
