MARK GINGERICH: COLUMBUS ILLUMINATED SEPTEMBER 4 - 26

"AS A CONTEMPORARY IMPRESSIONIST PAINTER, I DECIDED THAT I WOULD PAINT A SERIES OF WORKS WITH A FOCUS ON THE BEAUTY AND DIVERSITY WITHIN THE CITY.” MARK GINGERICH

COLUMBUS ILLUMINATED Brandt-Roberts Galleries is pleased to present Mark Gingerich: Columbus Illuminated, a solo exhibition by Ohiobased Contemporary Impressionist Mark Gingerich. The artist’s atmospheric paintings have received national acclaim for their exquisite technique and unexpected, yet familiar, subject matter. He was recently accepted into the highlyselective American Impressionist Society National Juried Exhibition for the eighth consecutive year and is a Signature Member of the society. This new body of work presents over 20 paintings that reveal glimpses of Columbus city life. Continuing his mastery in the medium of oil paint, Gingerich captures a single, passing moment in time: the sun rising on Broad Street, a view of High Street at dusk, and the glittering Columbus skyline against the dark of night. He garnered inspiration from locales such as Schiller Park in German Village, Franklin Park Conservatory, the Whetstone Park of Roses, and the Topiary Park.

While recognizable locales, such as those noted above, are featured, the work offers scenes of daily life and not necessarily prominent landmarks. The series as a whole offers a portrait of Columbus as a growing and expanding contemporary metropolis. Through his lens, Gingerich also conveys the sense of beloved neighborhood common spaces where communities gather. Mark Gingerich: Columbus Illuminated is on view starting Saturday, September 4th with a Gallery Hop Exhibition Reception from 1-7pm. The exhibition will be on view through September 26th during gallery hours, Wednesday through Sunday, 15pm, and by private appointment. Private appointments can be requested by emailing info@brandtrobertsgalleries.com or calling 614.223.1655. A virtual exhibition will be available at brandtrobertsgalleries.com/exhibitions.
