Surfing Beyond The Turbines Poster highlighting initial site research into Blyth for my graduation project ‘The Flux Project’. The poster helped in the initial development of the project brief.
Blyth Surf Open 2020 Perspective of The Flux Project in Blyth during Blyth Surf Open. Creating a central hub of activity in the area and increasing tourism and the local economy.

Tomato Season A view from inside the rooftop greenhouse garden. The rooftop greenhouse was designed to be run by volunteers in the area and provide fresh produce to the community cafe.
Plastic Laboratory Perspective showing a young child on a tour round the gallery in Berwick-UponTweed. The building was proposed as a response to plastic waste in the UK and worldwide and looked at artists such as Renzo Nucara who recycle plastic bottle waste to create art installations.
View back to The Flux Project Perspective showing a surfer’s view back towards The Flux Project as they finish a day surfing beyond the turbines in Blyth. The view from the sea back towards the project was key in the building design.

Blyth Skateboard Competition A view from inside the existing storage silo that The Flux Project utilises within its design. The area below the building creates a skate park that allows for training as well as competitions.

1:20 Detail Section The technical aspect to the design of The Flux Project was key to creating an environmentally friendly design that also incorporated renewable energy production within its design. This was influenced by Blyth’s strong renewable energy industry that dominates in the area.

Nieuwmarkt Photograph taken whilst in Amsterdam on the field trip in December. Over the past 4 years I have run my own freelance photography business. These skills as a professional photographer have helped considerably with photographing models, site trips and building precedents.
FLUX Flux is the in house lifestyle and innovation brand of The Flux Project. These products were designed in response to the cross disciplinary design within architecture and how in a similar way, surfing is a cross disciplinary hobby.
