This year was a tough year. I lost my dear friend who I called my brother in May of 2022. We called each other “Cow Wives” because we shared all things cattle with each other on an almost everyday conversation over the last 22 years. He was a great husband to his wife Renee; a great father to his kids: Marc, Matt, Desma, Craig and Josh; and also a great grandfather to his grand children. To our family he was a brother, to my kids he was Uncle Rob. He shared a passion for animals that he loved to share in person, on the phone, or at the local 4H events.

103 years ago a young girl, Helen Joyce, married Dewey Lowry. Together they made their first home in a small dug out, using wood crates as cupboards with homemade curtains. The two of them worked hard and farmed, raising cattle and horses. They would also go to little ropings and races, where this young girl would race her little grey mare for extra money. The two of them went from that little dug out to a home down in the canyons, where they raised two children, LonDale and Patsy. Patsy, the youngest, married Bob Pursley. The two of them stayed here on the ranch and had two girls, Rala and Bobbi. Rala married Jeff Moore and had a beautiful girl. Bobbi married JJ Quick and they stayed on the ranch to help it carry on. They had 3 children, Robert, Stormi, and Jami Jo. Robert married Montana Yocam and they have a handsome and ornery 2 year old boy named Crew and Creed, their new little addition born this last October. We are now on our 4th generation growing up here on the ranch and starting the 5th.

Mustang Ranch has grown from that little dug out, raising cross bred cattle to now Registered Black Angus. Our little ranch works hard to make sure we raise strong solid cattle. We take pride in the history of our ranch and the hard work that was put into it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16. Our prayer is not just for our little Mustang Ranch, but for everyone to know Him.
