HERD HEALTH

All cattle selling have been vaccinated with Titanium, 7-way, Pasturella as well as back poured. Additionally, the hiefers have been Bangs vaccinated. Each animal has also tested negative for BVD-PI. The bulls have either been tested for Trich or can be. Individual health certificates will be provided.

BREEDING GUARANTEE

BULLS - All bulls will sell with a first breeding season reproductive guarantee, which includes the first 90 days after turn out. Reproductive injuries must be examined by a veterinarian. If a satisfactory bull is available, we will replace the bull. If there is no replacement available, you will be awarded sale credit, minus salvage value, for a future purchase. In order for a replacement to be made, the bull needs to be fed and cared for adequately and not neglected. This guarantee does not cover death or loss of use and is limited to the purchase price of the animal. If you wish to insure your purchase(s), insurance will be available sale day.

FEMALES - Unless previously agreed upon, the replacement females are guaranteed to breed within the first 6 months following the sale date. Claims need to be made prior to October 1st.

Mustang Ranch has been around for 103 years and we are now the third and fourth generation to raise cattle and horses here. We have an exciting lineup of bulls this year and we are offering some open heifers to go along with them. We also have some exciting news...we are going to have the sale at the ranch this year with a brisket dinner prior to the sale on April 17th. We are also hosting an open house with snacks and food the afternoon of April 16th. For those who can’t make the sale, it will again be broadcast live on DVAuction and we will have people available on phones if you prefer to bid that way as well. We also have another exciting announcement: World Champion Auctioneer Colonel Matt Lowery has joined our team to help make this a top notch event.

Each year we work hard to take steps forward to produce genetics that will add power, pounds, and maternal value to your operation. We use artificial insemination and embryo transfer to help make strides in our program and offer you top quality genetics from top Angus producers from around the country. We also work hard outside of our A.I. programs to make sure the sires we have are top end producers that offer the phenotype and genetics needed to add everything from pound producers to easy calvers.

This year we again have bulls out of SAV Checkmate 8158, MR Admiral 9146, MR Feridand 316, SAV Rainfall 6846, KLA Resource 828, SAV Cascade 8214, SAV Governor 6844, and LD Capitalist 316. We also have two of the top dams (SAV Blackcap May 4136 and SAV Madame Pride 0075) in Schaff Angus Valley history represented in a large portion of our heifers and bulls pedigrees. These two dams have produced many top bulls and heifers for SAV, and we are excited to be able to have these top sires and dams in our bloodlines!

In 2022, the desert plains started with the usual drought until the end of June and God blessed us with awesome rains clear til the end of August. Those big rains were timed just right and it gave us an outstanding weaning average on our bulls of 720 lbs.With God’s great timing our herd produced top notch offspring this year that we believe will help anyone improve their herd.

This year was a tough year. I lost my dear friend who I called my brother in May of 2022. We called each other “Cow Wives” because we shared all things cattle with each other on an almost everyday conversation over the last 22 years. He was a great husband to his wife Renee; a great father to his kids: Marc, Matt, Desma, Craig and Josh; and also a great grandfather to his grand children. To our family he was a brother, to my kids he was Uncle Rob. He shared a passion for animals that he loved to share in person, on the phone, or at the local 4H events.

103 years ago a young girl, Helen Joyce, married Dewey Lowry. Together they made their first home in a small dug out, using wood crates as cupboards with homemade curtains. The two of them worked hard and farmed, raising cattle and horses. They would also go to little ropings and races, where this young girl would race her little grey mare for extra money. The two of them went from that little dug out to a home down in the canyons, where they raised two children, LonDale and Patsy. Patsy, the youngest, married Bob Pursley. The two of them stayed here on the ranch and had two girls, Rala and Bobbi. Rala married Jeff Moore and had a beautiful girl. Bobbi married JJ Quick and they stayed on the ranch to help it carry on. They had 3 children, Robert, Stormi, and Jami Jo. Robert married Montana Yocam and they have a handsome and ornery 2 year old boy named Crew and Creed, their new little addition born this last October. We are now on our 4th generation growing up here on the ranch and starting the 5th.

Mustang Ranch has grown from that little dug out, raising cross bred cattle to now Registered Black Angus. Our little ranch works hard to make sure we raise strong solid cattle. We take pride in the history of our ranch and the hard work that was put into it. “For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him shall not perish, but have eternal life.” John 3:16. Our prayer is not just for our little Mustang Ranch, but for everyone to know Him.
