Welcome to AMP25: Accessible Pathways!
Dear Attendees,
On behalf of the Board of Directors of the Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council, it is my honor to welcome you to AMP25: Accessible Pathways.
This year’s theme is a timely reminder of the critical work we must continue to do to create opportunities and open doors for minority-owned businesses.
As we gather here today, we find ourselves at a pivotal moment. The progress we’ve made is real, but it is not guaranteed. The pathways we have built toward equity, inclusion, and economic empowerment are under threat. It is essential that we remain vigilant and steadfast in our commitment to advancing supplier diversity and ensuring that access remains a priority—not just for today, but for generations to come.
I call on our corporate members to double down on your dedication to this mission. The work of supporting minority-owned businesses is not only a matter of fairness; it is a matter of innovation, economic growth, and competitive advantage. By creating intentional partnerships and fostering equitable opportunities, we build stronger businesses, stronger communities, and a stronger future.
As you participate in this year’s event, I encourage you to lean into the conversations, workshops, and connections that AMP25 has to offer. From exploring the transformative potential of AI to addressing pressing supply chain challenges, this conference is designed to equip you with the tools and inspiration to make a lasting impact.
I also want to extend my gratitude to our title sponsors, Ferguson and The City of Newport News, for their unwavering support, and to my fellow Board members and the incredible CVMSDC Team who have made this event possible.
Let us all leave AMP25 with a renewed sense of purpose and a shared commitment to ensuring that accessibility and equity remain at the heart of everything we do. Together, we can continue to build pathways that lead to success for all.
Thank you for your dedication to this important work.
Sincerely,
Jonathan Wilkins

Carolinas-Virginia Minority Supplier Development Council
Dear Attendees,
Welcome to AMP25: Accessible Pathways! I am thrilled to have you join us for this year’s conference, where we will focus on creating and strengthening accessible pathways to success for minority businesses across our region.
As we embrace the theme of Accessibility, I challenge each of you to think about how we can break down barriers, open doors, and create opportunities that drive equitable growth. This year, my personal word is Double-Down—a reminder to intensify our efforts, focus, and impact as we work together to advance the mission of CVMSDC.
During this event, you will have the chance to engage in thought-provoking sessions on topics like leveraging AI to transform your business, addressing critical supply chain challenges, and learning about the latest developments in our council. You will also be inspired by the incredible journey of Dr. Angela Reddix, our keynote speaker, who exemplifies the power of perseverance and vision in entrepreneurship.
I want to express my heartfelt gratitude to our Title Sponsors, Ferguson and The City of Newport News, whose generous support has made this event possible. A special thank you also goes to our Board of Directors and our amazing
volunteers for their dedication and hard work in bringing this vision to life.
AMP25 is more than a conference—it is an opportunity to connect, learn, and grow together. As we move forward, let’s double down on our commitment to creating accessible pathways that foster innovation, collaboration, and economic empowerment.
Thank you for being part of this important work. Together, we can make a difference.
In partnership,
It has been an incredible honor to serve as Chair of the Minority Business Enterprise Input Committee (MBEIC). Over the past few years, we have worked tirelessly to ensure that the voices of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) are not only heard, but truly valued. Together, we have challenged corporations to open their doors wider, creating more meaningful opportunities for diverse businesses to thrive. This journey has been one of advocacy, collaboration, and progress—pushing the boundaries to build a more inclusive and equitable business landscape.
One of our most significant accomplishments has been the phenomenal leadership and collaboration among the RINGs. This leadership team's willingness to show up, work hard, play hard, and ask the tough questions of ourselves has made a lasting impact. We have not only challenged corporations, but we also have challenged our own thinking and leadership to do more and serve more than ever before. We have strengthened our collective influence and ability to drive meaningful change by holding ourselves accountable to higher standards.
As I step away from this role, I do so with immense pride in what we have accomplished and confidence in the foundation we have built. However, our work is far from over. At a time when Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) are under attack in many spaces, it is more critical than ever to stand together, amplify our voices, and continue advocating for the opportunities and resources MBEs need to succeed. We are counting on you to stand as a strong advocate.
I sincerely thank the MBEs, Corporate Partners, and CVMSDC leadership for their unwavering support and commitment and for allowing me to serve. With great enthusiasm, I am honored to pass the torch to Alex Moore, whose leadership will undoubtedly propel CVMSDC to even greater heights. The work continues, and the future is bright—if we remain focused and united in purpose and action.
Ron Harvey
I am honored to step into this role and build upon the foundation laid by Ron Harvey. His leadership and commitment to amplifying the visibility of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) to help create equitable opportunities have driven meaningful progress.
As the incoming MBEIC Chair, my vision is to continue and strengthen this momentum by taking the best of what we have in relationships and technology to expand our reach and enhance connections between MBEs and Corporate Partners. A key initiative under my leadership will be the development of industry groups designed to connect those in similar spaces to facilitate knowledge sharing and drive growth. By fostering stronger networks within key sectors, we can unlock targeted opportunities and partnerships that drive sustainable growth for MBEs.
A key part of my plan is integrating technology to improve access to actionable information and strengthen collaboration across our region. I aim to ensure MBEs have the resources, insights, and partnerships necessary to thrive in our ever-evolving marketplace.
I look forward to working alongside each of you—MBEs, Corporate Partners, and CVMSDC leadership—to build on our momentum and create even greater opportunities for our members. Together, we will continue to break barriers and forge new paths.
