Greetings From King Tyre Lodge No. 292 and OES Evening Star No. 228
Thank you for supporting the King Tyre #292 Lodge and Evening Star #228 3rd Banquet. It is indeed an honor for me to recognize the Brothers of the Cra and the Sisters of the Order that have served before me. Our honorees have earned the right to be recognized on this auspicious occasion. Their legacy and light that continuously shines in our Lodge and Chapter is an inspiration as we follow the path that has been laid before us.
I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to serve as the Worshipful Master and the Associate Patron of these two great organizations. Humbly, Jacques Thomas
Worshipful Master King Tyre #292 Associate Patron Evening Star #228
In the name of our great Sisterhood knit together by charity and sincere friendship, I extend a warm and hearty welcome to each one of you on the occasion of our 3rd Joint Banquet.
It has been two long years since we have been able to gather safely. We have all endured the challenges put upon us by the pandemic – quietly facing unanticipated and unimaginable stressors. I give all honor and praise to my Lord and Savior for keeping us along the way and continuing to bless our humble labors I am honored to represent this great Chapter of devoted and committed servants It is because of your faithfulness, Evening Star, that we continued to serve the community despite those unforeseen challenges. I extend my heartfelt appreciation for the love and support you have given me, our beloved Chapter, and our community. Let us reflect this night on what our strength and faith have allowed us to accomplish. Thank you PHAmily for joining us this evening. We are thrilled that you are here to celebrate with us – Enjoy!!

Forever in our Hearts
Honorary Past Worthy Matron Hazel B. Gooden was a faithful member of Evening Star Chapter #228, Order of the Eastern Star of VA, PHA for over 50 years after joining on June 2, 1970. She served faithfully and unwavering in her dedication and devotion until later years when her health began to fail. She never faltered in the integrity and the foundation of the Order.
Charity, Faith, and Commitment were the corner stones of her true existence. She is remembered for her accounting skills and was Treasurer for the Chapter from 2000 – 2017, serving as the second Treasurer in the history of the Chapter.
Sister Gooden was alarmed over the decline of the membership, so when the opportunity came to grow the Chapter through new members, she hastily recruited several women of faith to join the Order, to include her niece and granddaughter.
The new members often gravitated to her as a source of knowledge and strength. She is dearly missed by all who knew her.
