Event Highlights Blood Drive with American Red Cross On Monday, August 3rd, BCA partnered with the American Red Cross for a community blood drive, and our residents truly showed up. The drive collected 44 units of blood, exceeding the goal of 30 units by 14!

Blood Drive Results: 46 donors checked in 44 total units collected 6 Power Red donations, collecting 12 units of red cells 8 first-time donors 7 donor deferrals Most importantly, these donations have the potential to help save up to 132 lives! Thank you to everyone who donated and supported the drive, and to the American Red Cross for partnering with us.

Missed this drive? Our next blood drive will be Monday, November 2nd, from 12 PM to 6 PM at the North Beach Clubhouse. Registration will be available through the American Red Cross at brandermill.com/events.

Back to School Drive Our Back to School Drive was a great success, thanks to the generosity of our community. We received a large number of donations that filled multiple bins.

All donations were delivered to Swift Creek Elementary School to help support students and teachers as they begin the new school year.

Thank you to everyone who donated and helped make this drive possible. Your support makes a meaningful difference in our community.

We wish all teachers, school staff, and students a wonderful school year!

Back to School Safety Tips As students head back to school, keep these simple safety reminders in mind: Slow down: Watch for children in neighborhoods, school zones, and near bus stops.

Watch for buses: Stop when school buses have their red lights flashing and stop signs extended.

Stay alert: Put down phones and avoid distractions while driving.

Use crosswalks: Encourage children to use designated crosswalks and look both ways before crossing.

Be visible: Children walking or biking should wear bright or reflective clothing when possible.

A little extra attention can help keep the students safe throughout the school year!

End of Season Pool Hours & Activities Pool Schedule Beginning Monday, August 24th, pool hours will adjust for the remainder of the season: Monday, August 24 - Monday, September 7 Weekdays: 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM Weekends + Labor Day: 11:00 AM to 8:00 PM Please remember to use any remaining pool guest passes before the end of the season, as unused passes do not roll over. For current pool hours and additional information, visit brandermill.com/pools.

Pool Birthday Parties Pool birthday parties are available to schedule through the end of the pool season. Contact the Lifestyle Director (Jonathan.Sharp@fsresidential.com) to confirm availability. Once a date, time, and location is confirmed, complete the required form and a payment link will be sent.

Parties are not confirmed until payment is received, which is required at least two weeks before the scheduled party.

As we wrap up another great pool season, we want to extend a special thank you to all of our SwimMetro lifeguards. Thank you for your hard work and dedication in keeping our pools safe, clean, and enjoyable throughout the summer. We appreciate all that you do for our community!

End of Season Boating Center Schedule Boating Center Hours The Sunday Park Boating Center will remain on its current schedule through its final day of operation on Monday, September 7th. The center is unstaffed Monday through Friday and fully staffed from 11 AM to 5 PM on weekends and Labor Day. Learn more about the Boating Center at brandermill.com/boating-center/.

Be sure to schedule your boat rental before the season ends! Monday through Friday, rental requests must be made at least 24 hours in advance by calling the BCA office. Weekend walkups are welcome based on availability.

We also want to extend a special thank you to all of our Boating Center Attendants for working all the weekends, assisting residents, handling rentals, keeping the park clean, and helping make the Boating Center a welcoming place for the community. We are fortunate to have such a dedicated and supportive team!

Pontoon Cruises Pontoon Cruises Continue Through October Although the pools and Boating Center will close for the season, Branderbelle pontoon cruises are available through the end of October. Each two-hour cruise includes a captain who will take your group on a relaxing tour of Swift Creek Reservoir. All you need to bring is yourself and your guests!

Reservations must be made at least seven business days in advance, Monday through Friday.

Cruises may begin as early as 9:00 AM and continue until dusk, weather permitting.

Rental Fees: Two-hour cruise: $100 for up to 10 guests Additional guests: $10 per person, with a maximum of 12 passengers Learn more and submit a reservation request at brandermill.com/branderbelle-pontooncruises.

Sunday Park Playground Sunshades The Sunday Park Playground Received an Upgrade The Sunday Park playground has received an exciting upgrade with the addition of new sunshades! These improvements help keep the playground cooler on sunny days, creating a more comfortable place for children to play. If you are visiting Sunday Park, stop by with your family and see the new sunshades for yourself.

Q4 Assessments Due October 1st The annual residential assessment is $925.00, payable in quarterly installments of $231.25.

Commercial property owners should refer to their mailed statement for assessment details.

Compliance Seasonal Checklist: ☐ Wood Rot Repairs ☐ Pressure Washing (Siding, Roofs, Gutters, Chimneys, etc.) ☐ Painting (Siding, Front Porch, etc.) ☐ Landscaping (Trimming, Planting, etc.) ☐ Driveway Maintenance ☐ Trash Cans ☐ Mailbox Repairs ☐ Boat Maintenance (Clean boats, canoes, and kayaks. Check ropes to ensure they are secure and in good condition.)

Maintenance Who Should You Call?

After storms or heavy rain, knowing who to contact can help get issues addressed quickly.

VDOT: Public roadways, including drainage issues, potholes, downed trees or limbs, snow and ice, and traffic signals.

Dominion Energy: Power outages, outage information, restoration updates, downed power lines, and electrical hazards.

BCA Maintenance: Association-maintained common areas, including trees or limbs on common property, trails, parks, and community amenities.

Helping Trees Through Late-Summer Stress Late-summer heat, humidity, and inconsistent rainfall can leave trees stressed as they prepare for fall. September is a good time to provide steady support, especially for young or recently planted trees.

Key tips include: Water deeply when the soil is dry, especially around young trees.

Watch for pests and signs of decline, including damage from Emerald Ash Borer.

Limit heavy pruning until trees enter winter dormancy.

Mulch around the root zone 2 to 4 inches deep, keeping mulch away from the trunk.

Consider professional tree care for larger trees growing in compacted or high-traffic areas.

A little attention now can help trees recover from summer stress and prepare for the colder months.
