This is a rare color catalogue from one of German´s largest retailers of musical instruments. The company was a mail order-company, selling directly to consumers only. The company had some own production facilities, but mainly bought hand made musical instruments from small and mid-size family owned workshops. The company was a so called "Fortschicker", which meant they bought cheap from small business and made a lot of money selling the instruments to musicians and orchestras. The word "Fortschicker" was a quite negative word among the instrument makers in the German/Boehemian "Musikwinkel". (Thea area which surrounds the towns of Markneukirchen, Klingenthal, Schöneck, Graslitz (Kraslice) and Schönbach (Luby)
