On behalf of the Brampton Board of Trade, I’m pleased to welcome you to this important and timely event

The relationship between Brampton and the Province of Ontario has never been more important. As the third-fastest-growing city in Canada and a leading job creator, Brampton plays a vital role in the province’s economic success. Strong collaboration between local and provincial leadership is key to unlocking our shared prosperity.

Today, we’re pleased to welcome Premier Doug Ford to Brampton, and excited for the opportunity to hear his vision firsthand. We’re also proud to host a fireside chat with Ministers who represent Brampton, allowing for deeper discussion on how provincial priorities connect to our community.

Patrick Brown was re-elected Mayor of Brampton in 2022, focusing on safety, infrastructure, recreation, and business growth. A former MP and Ontario PC Leader, he’s delivered four tax freezes and helped bring a new hospital and medical school to Brampton. He lives downtown with his wife Genevieve and their two children, Theodore and Savannah

MichaelBurrows CEO,Maple LodgeFarms

Michael Burrows is CEO of Maple Lodge Farms, Canada’s largest chicken processor and one of the country’s Best Managed Companies. He’s held leadership roles at E.D. Smith, Janes, Mattel, and Procter & Gamble. He chairs Food & Beverage Ontario and serves on multiple boards. Michael lives with his wife Mary Lou and has two daughters in business.

Doug Ford is the 26th premier of Ontario and the MPP for Etobicoke North. Previously a businessman and Toronto city councillor, Doug Ford has served as premier since 2018. Earlier this year, Premier Ford won his third successive majority mandate, running on a platform to protect Ontario workers, businesses and communities in the face of tariffs and economic uncertainty by cutting red tape, investing in infrastructure and making Ontario the most competitive place in the G7 to invest, create jobs and do business.

Sylvia Jones has served as the Member of Provincial Parliament for Dufferin-Caledon since 2007. She has lived in Orangeville for over 30 years with her husband David. They are proud parents of two children.

Prabmeet Sarkaria is the MPP for Brampton South. He holds a law degree from the University of Windsor and a BBA in Finance from Wilfrid Laurier University He has served on Brampton’s Property Standards Committee and boards like Hockey for Humanity Prabmeet is a dedicated advocate for Brampton South and all Ontarians

Before entering politics, Charmaine Williams spent 19 years as a certified Multi-Systemic Therapist, Behavioural Consultant, and Counsellor. She worked with organizations such as Associated Youth Services of Peel, Peel Children’s Centre, and the Reach Out Centre for Kids in Peel and Halton Region.

Born and raised in Brampton, his work with former MP Parm Gill and MPP Amarjot Sandhu instilled a deep appreciation for public service. This motivation has guided his career through various roles in the Ontario Government, including the Ministry of Environment, Ministry of Finance, and Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing.
