10:00AM

KeynoteSpeaker

Joel MacCharles is a human-first technologist and founder of Polaris Reach, where he works with executive teams to rethink how work gets done in the age of generative AI.

He didn’t come to AI as an evangelist. He came to it as a skeptic —initially resistant, concerned about its impact on people, work, and the systems we rely on. That tension still shapes his perspective today. He believes the risks are real, but so is the responsibility to engage, understand, and influence how these tools are used.

With over two decades of experience across learning, operations, and innovation, Joel focuses on helping leaders expand capacity, improve decision-making, and redesign work in ways that are both practical and human-centered. His work connects AI not just to efficiency, but to better judgment, healthier teams, and more meaningful use of time.

Outside of work, Joel spends significant time in the backcountry. That connection to nature informs how he thinks about balance, sustainability, and the long-term consequences of the systems we build.
