Gathered at the National Medal of Honor Museum, donors, leaders, and friends celebrated a legacy of service and the collective impact shaping the future of brain health.
Legacy in Action: Honoring Sarah and Ross Perot, Jr. The 2026 BrainHealth Legacy Award Dinner was a remarkable evening reflecting the leadership of Sarah and Ross Perot, Jr. and the strength of a donor community deeply committed to advancing brain health.
Through their generosity and leadership, Sarah and Ross have helped build something enduring at Center for BrainHealth – an impact measured not only in progress made, but in possibility created for the future.
Debbie and Jim Francis served as Dinner Chairs and former Dallas Mayor Tom Leppert was Honorary Chair. Their partnership helped convene an extraordinary group of patrons and partners whose generosity made the evening very impactful.
Held at the National Medal of Honor Museum in Arlington on Feb. 25, the gathering brought together longtime supporters, civic and business leaders and friends of the center for an evening grounded in gratitude, purpose and shared momentum.
In presenting the award, Dr. Sandi Chapman reflected on the collective leadership represented in the room: “Sarah and Ross lift people up. They are uniters, they are visionaries and their partnership strengthens our work beyond measure.”
The Perots’ philanthropy and advocacy has been foundational to Center for BrainHealth – helping shape our growth, strengthen our science, and extend our reach across generations. The evening was a wonderful opportunity to bestow our deep appreciation for their partnership. - Debbie Francis

Advancing Resilience for Those Who Serve Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters reflects the center’s long-standing commitment to supporting those operating under extraordinary cognitive and emotional demands. This year, that commitment gained renewed momentum through philanthropic leadership – expanding access to essential brain health tools for U.S. Special Operations Command (SOCOM) operators, veterans and their families. Donor investment continues to strengthen reach and readiness, ensuring brain health is addressed proactively – not only in recovery, but in preparation. Progress was significantly advanced through a $3 million gift from the Paul and Shelia Schlosberg Family Foundation, expanding the program’s reach with practical, research-driven tools that improve daily function and long-term quality of life.
Donor Impact Update 2026
Supporting a program that enhances the well-being of our nation’s warfighters and their families is a powerful way to honor Paul and Shelia’s legacy and help carry forward a mission they cared about so deeply. Andrea Schlosberg Winans, President of the Paul and Shelia Schlosberg Family Foundation and sister to Paul
This investment builds on decades of engagement from the Schlosberg family. Shelia Schlosberg, the center’s founding board chair and sister to Dr. Sandi Chapman, helped shape a vision uniting science with real-world application – positioning brain health as a societal priority. Momentum has been further amplified through a new $1 million challenge match from Admiral William McRaven (Ret.), building on his earlier $2 million match that was fully met.
Together, these gifts have accelerated giving and impact. Through sustained donor partnership, Optimal BrainHealth for Warfighters is advancing toward reaching 100,000 warriors within five years – reinforcing brain health as a cornerstone of readiness and recovery and setting the stage for parallel advances in sleep innovation that strengthen resilience across the lifespan.
This is what transformational philanthropy makes possible. When donors step forward together, they accelerate progress and honor those who serve with tools that strengthen brain health for life. Sandra Bond Chapman, PhD Chief Director, Center for BrainHealth

Donor Leadership Fuels the Future of Sleep Sleep is recognized as a cornerstone of cognitive strength, emotional balance, and long-term resilience. Donor leadership has accelerated this priority through the launch of the Sleep Innovation Laboratories, a multidisciplinary effort translating sleep science into practical brain health solutions.
That momentum deepened with the arrival of Dr. Matthew Walker from UC Berkeley, an internationally recognized leader in sleep science and inaugural director of the Laboratories. His work is advancing how sleep research moves from discovery to innovation – transforming insight into tools that actively
strengthen brain health across the lifespan. This progress is rooted in visionary philanthropy. Laurie and Todd Platt have led the way with a $2 million gift supporting a permanent foundation for sleep innovation at the center.

We were drawn to this work because sleep is foundational to everything that follows – how we think, lead, and live. Supporting this effort gives world-class science the runway to move faster, reach farther and deliver real impact for generations. Laurie and Todd Platt
Because donors invested in forward-looking, translational science, early advances are already emerging. Recent work has identified slow wave sleep activity – the brain’s deepest sleep state – as a key regulator of overnight anxiety in older adults, reframing late-life anxiety as a modifiable challenge and opening new pathways for intervention. Donor support also enables new ways to measure and improve sleep, including wearable technologies,

personalized stimulation methods, and other tools designed to optimize sleep as an active driver of brain health in everyday life. Through sustained philanthropic leadership, the Sleep Innovation Laboratories are advancing discovery while expanding what is possible for brain health today and in the future. Additional support will be critical to sustain momentum and accelerate the next phase of innovation.

Leadership Worth Celebrating, Impact Worth Sustaining The 2026 Branch Award Dinner brought together brain health supporters for an evening honoring visionary leadership and highlighting the enduring role of philanthropy in advancing brain health. Longtime donors, civic leaders, and scientific collaborators gathered on March 26 to recognize Dr. Francis Collins, whose career has shaped scientific discovery and strengthened public trust in research. The Branch Award Dinner remains a hallmark moment for the center – celebrating leadership while reaffirming the commitment of a deeply engaged donor community. Bearing the Branch family name, the award reflects their belief in recognizing pioneering scientific leaders who elevate
science, integrity, and service for the greater good – values long championed by the center. That commitment was further strengthened this year as the Branch family joined Center for BrainHealth as co-sponsors of the Branch BrainHealth Award Dinner, marking the first year of shared financial support and a commitment to continue this partnership through 2030. Our family’s commitment to Center for BrainHealth is rooted in a belief that exceptional leadership in the neurosciences has a far-reaching ripple effect. We are invested in that long-term impact and in honoring the great leaders who move brain health forward for generations to come. Daniel H. Branch
The 2026 celebration reflected the strength of this evolving partnership – honoring Dr. Collins’ lifetime of service while also recognizing the collective generosity that makes the Branch Award possible year after year. The Branch family’s co-sponsorship ensures the dinner remains not only a moment of recognition, but a catalyst for continued engagement and momentum around brain health innovation. As the center looks ahead, this shared commitment provides both stability and inspiration – reinforcing the belief that sustained philanthropic leadership is essential to advancing research, translating discovery, and shaping the future of brain health.
2030 The Branch family’s leadership underscores a shared belief that recognizing great scientific minds accelerates progress for generations to come.
