Deadpool Grizzled mercenary Wade Wilson (Reynolds) has met the love of his life and he couldn’t be happier. On the very night that he proposes marriage to Vanessa (Baccarin), though, he collapses, and is later diagnosed with terminal cancer. When a mysterious man approaches him offering an experimental cure for his disease, Wade takes him up on the offer so that Vanessa won’t have to watch him deteriorate. The people behind this “treatment” turn out to be much more sinister than they seemed, and their experiments cause Wade to develop super-healing abilities. He manages to escape from the facility, but not before becoming horribly disfigured from the villainous treatment. Happy that his super healing has purged the cancer from his body but ashamed of his new appearance, Wade starts a murderous hunt for Francis (Skrein), the scientist who performed the treatment, and the only one who knows how to reverse Wade’s disfigurement.
