CROSBY MEMORIAL PARK

Crosby Memorial Park amenities include a Serpent Lake swimming beach, boat access, RV and tent campsites, picnic shelters, a large playground, band shell, cook shack, softball field, basketball court and a skateboard park. GRANDPAS’ PARK – IRONTON

This bright purple playground is located in the middle of Ironton just off of Main Street at 398 Viola Avenue. It’s fenced for safety and has benches, a picnic table and a nearby basketball court. The park also has ice skating in the winter.

DEERWOOD BEACH

This unsupervised small public beach is located less than one mile from Deerwood Park off Cross Drive on Summer Place. Open Memorial Day through Labor Day. There is a dock, small paved parking area and a satellite toilet.

DEERWOOD PARK/ SKONE PARK ELMER PARK (DEERWOOD DEPOT PARK AND VISITOR CENTER)

Backstreet BOOKS shelter, satellite toilet and a splash pad. Deerwood’s splash pad has features such as non-slip concrete, mushroom shaped showers, and movable nozzles to allow users to spray others. The splash pad is controlled by a hand activated motion sensor and runs on four-minute Though small, this park offers a respite from a day’s travel. It is located on the main road and on the site of the original Deerwood train depot. There now stands a recreated depot picnic shelter. The park features a giant leaping deer made of fiberglass. The deer sports blaze orange during hunting season and is then decked out with a red nose during the Christmas holidays. The park has a historical marker honoring Minnesota’s Cuyuna Range. A large iron sculpture of a train is also in the park area. There are other waymarks in the park and an abundance of photo fun for the kids and family.
