Healingwithin

—SUBMITTED CONTENT—

Embodied counseling uses body practices intertwined with traditional talk therapy, weaving in research backed therapeutic yoga techniques such as breathwork, movement, and mindfulness to regulate and balance the nervous system, process emotions while moving energy in the body, and address symptoms from the inside out; using embodiment to bring awareness to the various levels of the self. We collaborate to work alongside you at your pace, as we know that you have the tools to heal within you and we are simply a support to get you to where you want to be.

Stress is felt in the body and therefore healing requires us to listen to what our body is saying. Think about a time when you cried and felt much more calm after or sang a song at the top of your lungs and immediately felt a release? When combined with traditional talk therapies such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), this approach to counseling focuses on staying present, non judgment, and acknowledgement and acceptance, all which lead individuals to increased self regulation, a heightened sense of well-being, and a greater sense of feeling whole.

“An embodiment practice is a method of using the unique sensations of our body as a tool to develop awareness, stay present, self-regulate, feel whole, find balance, feel connected, know yourself, love yourself, and feel empowered.” - Somatic Movement Project
