We submitted a pre-application for the development of a vacant piece of land

Fronting Moseley Street the addition to the hostel would provide a new reception area, interview rooms, training spaces and more accommodation.

Henrietta Street workshop elevation including our proposed new build element.

The new build draws on the historical precedent which at the time was a counter balance to the height of the main building on the corner of Constitution Hill, known as Shop N.

Larger brick pier bays with 2 windows separated by a thinner brick pier and decorative tile spandrels, mirror the architecture.

A rooftop extension to the main building is a nod to the buildings past, incorporating the letter ‘N’.

The Bond Oval Digbeth 2020 - present

Work started on site at The Bond.

Sitting on a single site, the fve buildings that make up The Bond all have quite diferent architectural characters. This individuality is being respected with the proposed alterations appropriate to each building.

Paint colours and signage will maintain the relationship between the buildings.

Pictured here on an external wall of Retort House is The Fox, a piece of work by Birmingham artist Annatomix.

No. 7 Bedford St is a single storey building within the Conservation Area of Leamington Spa.

The purpose of the re-development was to increase the amount of retail space, providing a viable and long term sustainable future for the existing local business.

Our proposals included maintaining and extending the ground foor as retail space. 4 new apartments would sit above the unit and a further 5 storey building would ‘infll’ a gap at the rear of the site.

We started 2021 in lockdown and remote working again.

With our need to expand the team, the frst wave of new starters had to navigate the tricky waters of starting at a new practice whilst remote working, getting to know the team and importantly gaining an understanding of how we work.

Architect David Baugh joined us in March, followed by Part II Assistant Alex Fedyk in April.

Tom passed his Part II in June and then went on to win the BCU nomination for the RIBA Silver Medal.

Part I Josh Veale joined the team in the summer as restrictions were easing, along with Part II Emil Karadzhov and Architect Kimran Farooq.

In August we received the news that Ben Tipson, who had spent his Part I year out with us, was back from Glasgow and we welcomed him back with open arms as a Part II Assistant.
