STEP 1 BARREL STRAIGHTENING
Each Bergara barrel must begin with a straight bar of cylindrical steel. We inspect every bar to ensure it meets our deviation standards.
STEP 2 DEEP HOLE DRILLING
The bar then moves on to a four-spindle, deep hole drilling machine where a perfect hole is drilled through the entire length of the bar.
STEP 3 BARREL HONING
Three separate honing spindles utilize diamond tipped bits that polish the interior surface of the barrel to a mirror-like finish.
STEP 4 BUTTON RIFLING
A carbide rifling button is drawn through the barrel to produce the rifling grooves at the appropriate twist rate for each caliber.
STEP 5 STRESS RELIEVING
A high temperature heating process realigns the steel molecules ensuring the barrel is free from any stress.

IDAHO - ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIGHORN SHEEP
For anyone who has ever drawn a true once in a lifetime tag you will understand. In this scenario, the pressure truly is a privilege. Drawing my once in a lifetime Idaho Rocky Mountain Bighorn Sheep tag encompassed a tremendous amount of pressure. Both internally and externally. Trying to learn all I could about an animal I had never hunted and only rarely seen, became a paramount endeavor and obsession. Scouting was a critical component. Learning about and finding rams in the amazing country these animals call home was challenge. A challenge required to increase my chances to achieve my ultimate goal of harvesting a bighorn ram. I was also feeling external pressure, obligation to the hundreds of people who have been putting in for this tag, many for decades. I felt pressure to make sure I put in the effort to warrant me having the opportunity to hold this coveted tag instead of someone else. I have never put in so much time, energy, resources and effort into any tag or hunt I have participated in up to this stage of my life.
truly hope that, maybe, in some way I will have the opportunity to feel this type of pressure again. What a privilege it is!

BRITISH COLUMBIA - ROCKY MOUNTAIN BIG HORN SHEEP
Sheep hunts are special. It gets repeated often, but I think that’s a testament to how true that statement is. With that said, there are few people who love it more than those who spend their days guiding them. And when it comes to sheep hunts, bighorns in the Canadian Rockies are often considered to be one of the most challenging. Weather, rugged mountains and dense timber all make finding a legal ram that much harder. It will push your grit and your gear past what you’d think was possible.
This past fall I was fortunate enough to accompany one of my best friends and sheep guide, Milan Marcetta, as he set out to fill his own bighorn sheep tag. A tag that could be considered once in a lifetime, even in an opportunity-rich province like British Columbia. After 7 days of snow, wind, heavy packs, and shifty rams, a 400 yard shot sealed the deal on what ended up being one of our favorite hunts to date.

KODIAK ISLAND - SITKA BLACKTAIL
Rugged, untamed, and vast—these are just a few words to describe the landscape the Sitka blacktail calls home on Kodiak Island. To celebrate my 30th birthday, I embarked on a trip that not only challenged my body but also fueled my love for the adventure of exploring wild places. Whenever thought about challenging places to hunt, my mind kept returning to Kodiak Island. After enduring 80-mile-per-hour winds, relentless rain and snow, and the constant awareness of brown bears potentially lurking around every corner, I can confidently say I chose a destination that epitomizes adventure.
For this trip, I carried the Ridge Carbon chambered in 6.5 PRC, opting for something lightweight to navigate the steep terrain. After several days of glassing, hiking, and braving the weather, I finally got the opportunity I had been hoping for. My friend and spotted multiple deer on the hillside—two good bucks and several does. As I prepared the rifle, snow began to fall, obscuring my view of the buck through the scope. Finally, the snowfall eased, and the buck stepped out of the timber, offering a perfect broadside shot. After I fired, a second buck rose from the tall grass. I handed the rifle to my friend, ranged the distance, and adjusted the elevation for him. Just like that, we had two bucks down and a grueling pack-out ahead of us through steep, bear country.

ANDES MOUNTAINS - RED STAG
The red stag rut is a magical time, but it’s always over too quickly, lasting only a couple of weeks each fall. To extend this experience, I decided to travel to the southern hemisphere during our spring and immerse myself in the rut in Argentina. Red stags, once introduced from Europe, now roam freely in some of the world’s most stunning landscapes.
For over a week, we traversed the rugged terrain of the Andes Mountains, covering miles on horseback and on foot, in pursuit of one of the most unforgettable hunts I’ve ever had. There were no tents, just sleeping under the vast sky, wrapped in horse saddle blankets, living the adventure the old-fashioned way. The real lesson from this trip came from my guide, who taught me to slow down and enjoy the simple tasks. The process of making coffee over a fire, instead of using modern conveniences, reminded me that life is about savoring the moment and the conversations that unfold around the warmth of a campfire.
