Adult Courses
Welcome!
As Principal of Bournemouth and Poole College, I’m very proud that our courses for adults focus on skills that are in demand and equip our students to take advantage of new opportunities, or to continue their learning for self-development.
It’s never too late to start and whichever is your preferred way of accessing our courses, we’re pleased to offer a supportive approach to study, with amazing teaching and support teams who’ll be by your side throughout your time with us.
Our campuses have incredible facilities for adult learners and foster a collaborative and supportive environment.
I’d recommend coming along to one of our Open Events, to see for yourself what our amazing college has to offer and to speak with staff and feel their enthusiasm for what they do.
For those wanting degree-level study, our University Centre at our Poole campus provides a dedicated base for our higher-level course students and provides excellent technical facilities for learning. For people without formal qualifications who’d still like to do a degree, an Access to HE course could be a route into pursuing that goal.
You can book tickets at: thecollege.co.uk/open I look forward to welcoming you to our fantastic college. Phil Sayles
For people who prefer to study in their own home, our online courses offer a flexible, more convenient option, opening up pathways which otherwise may be inaccessible to them. We strive to make learning accessible to everyone and to encourage lifelong learning.

If you’d like to get the degree you’ve always wanted but don’t have the formal qualifications to be offered a place, then an Access to Higher Education course could be your one-year route to university. There are lots of reasons why people go back into education after a gapyear, short break or even many years after leaving school. It doesn’t matter why, what’s important is how we can help you realise your ambition to get a degree. Our Access to Higher Education courses are popular, nationally recognised qualifications, designed for students aged 19+, who are planning to continue with their career-related studies at degree level. They cover a wide range of areas including Health Science Professions, Computing and Media. The courses are demanding and you’ll need to allow time to continue your studies outside of your college hours. However, if you have the determination and commitment to achieve your goals, you can be sure we’ll help you get there. Studying an Access to Higher Education Diploma will give you insight into what’s involved in university study and fully prepare you for studying at degree-level.

Climate change affects us all and is never far away from the news headlines. Demand for electric vehicles has gone through the roof. And that roof is more likely than ever to be covered in solar panels. With energy costs spiralling, more efficient heating is in high demand and the take-up of ground source heat pumps, backed by government funding, has seen a rapid rise in the last two years according to the Microgeneration Certification Scheme (MCS), with installations in the UK now exceeding 200,000.
