Loyal local Fassina supports "Buy SA. For SA"
from Hotel SA Dec 2023-Jan 2024
by Boylen

For veteran South Australian liquor retailer Fassina, embracing Brand SA’s latest campaign supporting local businesses and producers was a ‘no-brainer’.
“It aligns perfectly with our values of supporting local ,” said Elise Fassina, the company’s Marketing and Business Development Manager.
Launched in August, 2023, the campaign plays on the fierce parochialism of South Australians by encouraging consumers to look for the State Brand and “Buy SA. For SA.”
Elise said setting up the branding in store was simple and the signage looks great in the Fassina stores. “You reach out through the Brand SA website. They can send a variety of point-of-sale options that suit different businesses and they all look really smart.”
A selection of point-of-sale material, designed to help consumers identify local products, is available from the Brand South Australia team.
And campaign artwork and assets are available for download from the Brand South Australia website to help amplify the message across marketing and social
media platforms. Those assets include window decals, wobblers and shelf stripping.
Elise has no doubt the campaign is the perfect fit for their business and encourages other local businesses to get on board. “Customers really respond to the tagline ‘it feels good to buy local’’. It resonates for them.” she said.
Fassina liquor stores look forward to celebrating their 50th anniversary in 2025.
“We’ve always worked with local small and medium businesses, building long-term relationships. It‘s one of the key elements of our success and longevity. “We love collaborating with and promoting wonderful SA wineries, distilleries and breweries.
“We pride ourselves on having a huge and expertly curated range of South Australian wines, beers and spirits”.
“We have a passion for authentic products connected to local people, not like the own brand & private labels you find in other stores.”
The Brand SA campaign is expected to run until at least April, 2024.
Brand SA and the AHA|SA encourages all local businesses to promote the “Buy SA. For SA.” message to support local businesses and help the state they love thrive.
They can do that either at hotel level, by reminding consumers they are locally owned or at product level, via the promotion of South Australian brands and products.
“When people are given the option, they tend to choose South Australian products,” Elise said.
“It’s hard to go past SA products! “
“There are some big brands that everyone knows are South Australian like Coopers, but the craft brands like Big Shed Brewery deserve to be highlighted and have that recognition as well.
“It’s about lifting up those small and medium local business that people might not be aware are local and once they do, they can choose to buy them and support regularly.”
If your business isn’t already registered to use the State Brand, apply today. It’s free and using the State Brand will help your business leverage the benefits of the campaign.
