Boyd Coddington Detail Garage® is a progression of professional car care products. I originally headed the launch of the popular car care product line, Boyd’s Ultra Violet in 1995. Boyd’s Ultra Violet was my first venture into manufacturing highend car care products.

After twenty-five years in the car care, hot rod and custom wheel industry, and a lifetime as a car enthusiast and hot rodder, my goal was to develop a line of high end car care products that would fit the needs of detailer’s, both professionals and hobbyists. A lot has changed since the Boyd’s Ultra Violet launched, boasting the bright purple labels. Today, auto care has to keep progressing to keep up with changes in auto paints, changes in industry regulations, and new innovations in the science of car care.

Boyd Coddington’s HCX2 is a superior wheel coating formulation created with a proprietary modified silica. It forms an interlocking molecular glass like hard finish with incredible protection. HCX2 forms a permanent bond to the treated surface and will not wash away or break down. HCX2 can only be removed by machine abrasion making it a highly durable protective coating to protect your custom wheels and paint work from damaging contaminants.

The unique formulation of HCX2 has enabled it to be multi-layered which means the thickness of the coating can be increased with additional layers allowing a thicker and/or harder film that will increase its scratch resistance. Once HCX2 is on the surface of the wheel or paint of a vehicle, there is no need for continued maintenance aside from basic washes.

HCX2 is an aluminum, stainless steel, and metal ceramic coating and protectorate. HCX2 preserves polished billet and/or forged, cast aluminum and all other rim types locking in and sealing the finish, therefore reducing the need to repeatedly polish your wheels.
