9. Schedule for the Stepladder finals The Stepladder Finals are played by the top 3 men and top 3 ladies respectively after the round robin. Number 3 versus number 2 over one game. The winner versus number 1 over two games total pinfall to count.

The practising before the stepladder-finals will take place at lane 19-20 as follows: 13.40: Number 3 and number 2 from the ladies round robin 14.00: Number 1 from the ladies round robin 14.40: Number 3 and number 2 from the men round robin 15.00: Number 1 from the men round robin

The stepladder

finals will be played at lane 5-6 as follows:

14. Opening Ceremony All the participants in the openmg ceremony are to meet out side the centre, on the 23.09.98 at 12.15.

Two players and one or two coaches from each nation will participate in the opening ceremo ny (subject to the individual nations).

A flag and a sign with the name of each country are to be carried on the official entry.

Each nation decides for itself, whom they might like to carry their own flag and sign.

Below please notice the order of the entry listed with the number of the lane, on which the nation has to take up position (in single file) during the ceremony. First the participant carrying the nations sign enters and right behind the participant carrying the flag enters.

During the ceremony a number of speaches will be given by: • The President of the Organizing Committee, Kim Thorsgaard Jensen • The President ofthe Danish Bowling Federation, Arne Hyldekrog • Malene and Morten Christoffersen (players oath) • Mimi Jacobsen (officials oath) • Member ofthe European Zone Presidium, Jacky Felsenstein After the speaches, the Danish National Anthem will be played.

The opening ceremony will end with the exit march beginning with Denmark. The participants return to the place just outside the centre, from where they began their entry.

15. Closing Ceremony There will be no entry march for all nations in the closing ceremony.

The closing ceremony has 2 vietory ceremonies (ladies and men). Before each ceremony the 3 medallists meet with their coaches just outside the centre.

The medallists and coaches will march in together in the folIowing order: • The coach of the medallist of silver (with the national flag) • The medallist of silver • The coach ofthe medallist of gold (with the national flag) • The meda1list of gold • The coach ofthe medallist ofbronze (with the national flag) • The medallist ofbronze The three coaches (with the national flags) take position to the right ofthe rostrum, while the 3 medallists take position in front of the rostrum according to their placement.

The medals will be presented as follows: • Gold: Member ofthe WTBA European Zone Presidium, Jacky Felsenstein • Silver: The President ofthe Danish Bowling Federation, Arne Hyldekrog • Bronze: President ofthe Fuen Bowling Union, Hartvig Fritzen • Flowers: Representative from the city of Odense After the presentation of the medallists and (the handing over of) medals, the National Anthem for the winning nation will be played.

After the playing of the Anthem the winners of the ladies championship will exit right after the end ofthe vietory ceremony.

Conditions at and around the playing ground Before the start of each event, a block of an event or a final-event there will be 5 minutes ofpractising. We ask the players and coaches to take notice ofthis.

Before practising, at the end of practising and at the start you will be given notice by loudspeakers.

After the end of a game, we ask the players and coaches to remain by the lane, where the game has just ended until you hear the whistle. After the whistle, all players and coaches must change lanes at the same time.

There will be another whistle, when the next game is to start.

Each player has a score-sheet for all her/his games. The player's coach must fill in the score-sheet after each game with the result ofthe game.

Services from Referees The group of referies watch over the activities on the lanes and will be close by to assist players and coaches, if pins are to be risen or if there are problems of any kind concerning the play.

Delagates of the day As a result of the referees among the lanes and a number of skilled Danish Officials we will propose, that no officials from the federations will be involved as delegates of the day.

Equipment Please notice, that it is not allowed to remo ve the bowlingballs from the centre, after they have been controlled. Likewise eventual new balls, ment to be used in the championship after the control has taken place, must be controlled before use.

Postal trays for each federation Outside the Secretariat you will find a postal tray for each nation, in which we will place information for the officials (for example printouts of the scoring system after each event). Please empty your tray at interval s during each day.

Press In the pressroom you can use the telephone, ask to have a fax transmitted or use a-phone line with your modem in your laptorp. There will be no charge for the use ofthe communication equipment. The pressrom will only be open for members ofthe press.

Bustransportation and extra service Bustransportation consists of one or two busses, used in the pre-scheduled plan (please notice information earlier in the material) as well as a minibus primarily used for transportation if needed.

If you'd need an extra transportation back to the hotel from the centre - beside the known schedule oftransportation - you are allowed to use the minibus for this purpose. We will thus try to get some people together before departure.
