I consider it a privi lege and pleasu re to be ab le to extend a warm welcome, on behalf of Fl.O., to all attending the 1978 European Youth Championships and, whether they be actually bowling, or simply supporting, I feel sure they will be present at a most memo rable event. To the World Organisation, there can be nothing bette r than to see our sport grow and there is a special delight in watching this expansion being supplied by the enthusiastic end keen youngsters taking part in the Championships. The future for Tenpin Bowling beckoms brightly and there is every possibility that participants could, one day, be representing their country in an effort to obtain a Gold Medal in the Olympic Games. In looking forward to enjoying some first class bowling, thanks must surely be due to the members of the Dansk Bowling Forbund who have obviously worked extremely hard and well deserve our gratitude. Congratulations to the Organisers and the very best of bowling to every entrant.
In my capacity of President FI. O. European Zone and also on behalf of the Presidium FI.O. E.Z. I bid you all a hearty welcome on the occasion of the 4th European Youth Championships 1978 at Aalborg. I am very pleased to put on record the important increased interest for participation and also the possibility for participation of our young ladies members, this year for the first time. It is the firm conviction of the FI. Q. E.Z.-Presidium that these Championships will contribute to the further growth of the ties of friendship between the youth of the participating countries. Taking advantage of the occasion I want to thank the enthusiastic Board of Governors of the Dansk Bowling Forbund for the spontaneous willingness to organize these championships.
