Things to do in a Blackout explored the fact crime rose by a reported 57% during the Second World War. Fraud, gang culture, looting, and robbery impacted on people’s everyday life. Along with poverty, hunger, illness, and exceptional pressure – what was home really like?
Things to do in a Blackout was conceived before and delivered during Covid. As such, the company have produced a body of remote learning workshops. This pack provides a six week project for students which can be delivered remotely - developing creative writing skills to produce tiny stories, monologues and micro scripts that reflect upon life during the war. Workshops have been taken and adapted from the Company's creative writing project with young people.
