100 UNITS IN 100 DAYS

The 100th Comfort Space 7 unit has just been signed off by the Quality Control Manager at Boss Cabins and despatched to its eager customer, less than one hundred days after its launch at the Showman’s Show. ‘The response to this unit has been overwhelmingly good’ says Matthew Wordsworth. ‘We set out to increase the usable inside space of the standard 12’ unit without changing its external dimensions and it’s clearly what the market wants.’ ‘I’m genuinely shocked how much I like it’ said Mark Philpin of Ranger Plant Ltd. ‘It addresses a problem I hadn’t acknowledged – that in your average 12’ mobile there’s little or no storage. People’s bags, crash helmets, boots and jackets become trip hazards on the benches and floor, which is a health and safety nightmare. Now everyone has their own wall mounted storage compartment as well as access to the large communal spaces under the bench seats.’ ‘You have to see inside the unit for yourself’ explains Matthew ‘to believe that increasing dedicated storage from 110 litres to 640 litres and adding seating for an extra user can actually make it seem larger.’ ‘The microwave is shelved under the counter, maximising worktop space so all seven users can prep lunch and drinks together’ adds Matthew.

‘And the toilet skylight and catering grade stainless steel worktops also get great feedback — little details it’s easy to overlook but which make a real difference to the users.’

“ THE RESPONSE TO THIS UNIT HAS BEEN OVERWHELMINGLY GOOD.” —

Matthew Wordsworth Director, Boss Cabins Ltd.

'The Comfort Space 7 is more comfortable, practical and safer to use' says Mark Philpin. 'Ranger Plant was the very first customer to purchase a Comfort Space 7 unit and now we wouldn't go back to a standard 6-man. I don't know why anyone would.' ‘As a hire business,' says Charles Armstrong of Mercian Masterplan Ltd 'we're always looking to be a step ahead of the competition.' ‘The new Comfort Space 7's extra room and storage features are great innovations. Like Big Space and Big Space Welfare, Boss Cabins are listening to what we, the market, wants and in my mind leading the way, saving us considerable servicing time and costs and in turn boosting our bottom line.’

BOSS RE-INVEST FOR THE FUTURE

Over the past year, Boss Cabins have been ploughing profits back into their manufacturing facility in Bourne. ‘We’re building our business for the future’ says Tim Allan, Director. ‘Investing in state-of-theart equipment so we can scale up production to meet increasing demand, while improving quality, consistency and build-time.’ ‘As well as our half million pound CNC laser cutter which creates our steel components’, says Tim ‘we now have a brand new CNC router with a massive 12 metre square bed. This router processes our engineered CAD drawings and precision cuts the GRP-based Styrofoam and plywood used to fit-out the cabins.’ The 70,000 square foot factory has had 14,000 square feet of mezzanine installed and a selfcontained paint plant added, allowing colour customisation for customers on the premises. ‘We’ve been busy’ says Tim. ‘We’ve launched six new cabins in the past six months and each new product requires detailed engineering, design work and testing. So we have expanded

our research and development team and our engineering department.’ The ERP system has also been upgraded and now controls the entire business, streamlining ordering, production, sales and aftersales.

“ WE’VE BEEN BUSY; WE’VE LAUNCHED SIX NEW CABINS IN THE PAST SIX MONTHS. ” — Tim Allan Director, Boss Cabins Ltd.

So What’s Next? ‘Our new dedicated Quality Control station will be completed this week’ says Tim. ‘All cabins will undergo a meticulous 107-point inspection there before despatch. We want to ensure that we are not only market leaders in innovation, but also producing robust, reliable and premium quality cabins - true British manufacturing to be proud of.’

600 HOUR SERVICE INTERVALS HOW MUCH WILL YOU SAVE?

THE WELFARE CHALLENGE

Redbox Power announced this month that all their generators have 600 hour service intervals — the longest in the industry. Not surprisingly, this offers considerable cost and time savings to operators with fleets of Boss Cabin welfare units fitted with Redbox generators. Not only are these service hour intervals on all new Redbox generators but, amazingly, Redbox in conjunction with Hatz are applying this to all existing Redbox generators in their cabins. So if you already own Boss Cabin mobile welfare units powered by Redbox generators this is excellent news. Already appreciated for their easy access, low noise emission and state of the art control panels, Redbox are becoming the generators of choice within the mobile welfare market.

We challenge you to see how many people can you fit into a Boss Cabins Welfare Cabin. Watch our video to see how our challenge went and how many people we managed to fit in comfortably! Can you beat us? Let us know how you get on, we guarantee it will be more than you think!
