ALUMNI, JOIN US TRACKSIDE--

Techmen, especially alums from Automotive/Power & Transportation technology—this is it; now’s your chance to work pit crew, drive in LeMons (sorry, not Le Mans), cheer on the Tech’s Car Club team, and help current students!

The club is enthusiastically prepping for the Sep. 29-Oct. 1 “24 Hours of LeMons” endurance race at Buttonwillow Raceway Park, near Bakers eld, and you’re invited to participate. Guide them through their on-campus prep, give them a hand trackside during the race—your help in any way is appreciated! You may even be asked to drive as minors are not allowed behind the wheel.
This will be the club’s third LeMons race and they’re determined to nish the full event—8 hours on both Saturday and Sunday. Overcoming mechanical challenges, they’ve upgraded their lemon, a ectionately named “Limonada.” The 2003 Ford Mustang V6 was donated to the Tech with a burned-out clutch and no catalytic converter. With the help of Techmen Ricardo Mireles (EL ’83), Alfonso Gonzales (AU ’83), Tech President Memo Gutierrez (AU ’83) and students from partner school Academia Avance, the team has made the vehicle race ready for less than $500, following the competition rules.
If you’d like more info, would like to help, or simply want to watch the race, please contact Memo Gutierrez at mgutierrez@boscotech.edu.
Look for the Tech team at about 7:23 on this 2022 o cial race video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RQI1EvGi7Lk
