Breaking a 20-year tradition, Swissvale has decided to split its annual CleanUp Day into two unique events in order to streamline the process and encourage more volunteerism in the community. The first event will occur on Saturday, April 23, 2022, and the second on May 21, 2022.

The April 23rd event will be the traditional town wide clean-up. Volunteers are invited to gather at the Public Works Garage on McCague Street at 9:00 a.m. to receive highvisibility shirts, gloves, garbage bags, grabbers and other necessary supplies to deploy throughout Swissvale and clean-up trash and litter. Coffee and light refreshments will be provided in the morning and lunch will be provided to all volunteers at the end of the event. Volunteers will also have a chance to win door prizes just for helping with the clean-up. We would like to encourage residents of all ages to participate and make our town a place to continue to be proud of. A couple of hours of volunteerism will go a long way towards beautifying Swissvale!

The second clean-up event will be held on Saturday, May 21. This event will be our annual Electronics, Household Hazardous Waste and hard to dispose of items collection. Items to be collected will include televisions, computers, computer peripherals, batteries, tires, household hazardous waste (paints, paint thinners, oils, antifreeze, etc.), tires, bulk items and building materials. Disposal of these items is free and is available to Swissvale residents only. Please bring a photo ID with your current Swissvale address to dispose of your items at this event. This event will begin at 9:30 a.m. at Memorial Park and continue until 1:00 p.m. Please see the list below, check our website and social media pages for more details on the event.
