TOUR DESCRIPTION:

Get to know the big city of Mexico with Borderlandia.

Mexico City is a symphony for the senses, a world-class travel destination, and now is the time to go. On this week-long intercultural trip, you’ll drink the frothy prehispanic hot chocolate, scale the ancient pyramids of Teotihuacán, and follow in the footsteps of Frida Kahlo and Diego Rivera in Coyoacán. Setting this trip apart, we will travel around la Ciudad de México with locals, offering guests a one-of-a-kind perspective on contemporary life in this big city.

Not Included:

» Airfare to and from Mexico City. American Airlines runs a daily direct flight from PHX-MEX 9:55 AM – 3:18 PM & returning to Phoenix MEXPHX 4:15 PM - 5:40 PM.

» Transportation transfer to and from the airport to the hotel.

We recommend UBER, it is efficient, safe, and extremely reasonable in CDMX.

A tip: If you do have the tendency to experience car sickness we recommend bringing some Dramamine tablets along with you in case.

Some Exchange Advice: In Mexico, it is best to have small denominations on you rather than large bills. You’ll never know what you’ll find in your travels to Mexico - having some handy spending money makes it easy and you get to help your neighbors, the civil society of Mexico’s economy.

Attire & Sun Protection: We recommend long pants or jeans only if will be entering holy places like missions. We recommend lightweight loose long sleeve shirts and sun protection in the form of sunglasses, hats, and sunscreen. Please check the forecast for the destination prior to departure for packing clothing accordingly. Layers are always the way to go.

Moderate. The good thing about being built on a former lake is that everywhere you go is relatively

flat. That said, there will be walking almost every day given our central location adjacent to the historic city center and Reforma Avenue.

Communication:

We will set up a Mexico City Tour group communication channel on WhatsApp for ease of information sharing during the trip. You can download WhatsApp for free on iTunes or Google Play Stores on your smartphone.

Cancellation Policy

Overnight tours to Mexico are fully refundable up to ten weeks before the initial tour date. If cancellation occurs between ten and six weeks before the tour’s first day, they are subject to a $250 (per person) administrative fee. There is no refund if cancellation occurs from six weeks to the start date of the tour. There’s also the option to transfer the registration to another individual found by the original registrant.
