A LETTER FROM THE COACH

Jag Nation,

On behalf of our coaching staff here at Spain Park, I’d like to thank each one of you for doing your part in helping us move this program forward. Going into year 2 together, we have made some big strides. We worked with community members and businesses to install a state-of-the-art jumbotron in the stadium. We had a few guys sign scholarships to play football in college after last season, and we currently have 9 kids in our program with offers to play at the next level. One of those young men has already committed to play in an All-American Game in San Antonio after the 2024 season. There is plenty of talent in this community, we just have to nurture and keep it here...

The vision to elevate our program to consistently being one of the best in this state starts with surrounding these young guys with men who will not only lead on the football field, but also off of it. The coaching staff is second to none, with a mixture of personalities, experiences, and backgrounds. We are here to lead these guys through one of the most influential times in their young lives and we take that very seriously.

Again, thank you for the support of our football program here at Spain Park High School. Together we will build it into something we can all be very proud of.

Parents, as I always tell yall...thanks for giving us your sons. We will never take that blessing for granted.

Welcome to Spain Park High School and Jaguar Stadium at Robert O Finley Field Head Coach Tim Vakakes is entering his second season at the helm of our Spain Park Jaguar Football Team. This year has brought an excitement surrounding the season unmatched by recent years 7A Region 3 football continues to be one of the most competitive regions in Alabama, and we look forward to what the season holds

Spain Park takes pride in the community that surrounds not only our student athletes, but also those coaches, and faculty and staff that pour into our students on a daily basis This special community along with our principal, Dr Amanda Esslinger, faculty and staff, the Spain Park administrative team, our superintendent, Dr Dee Fowler, the central office staff, and the Hoover City Schools Board of Education, come together to create an environment promoting student athletes and sportsmanship Sportsmanship is something that is of utmost importance and something that extends from the athletes and coaches, down to the fans. We hope that everyone in attendance has an enjoyable time, while we also strive to create a safe and healthy environment for all

In addition to our community, athletes, and Spain Park Faculty and Staff, Jag Nation and football games under the Friday night lights would not be whole without the spirit and entertainment that our cheerleaders, Pride of the Park marching band, Dazzlers, Sapphires, color guard, majorettes, and mascot, “Jaggy”, bring to each game and half-time performance Thank you for your attendance and support of Spain Park High School, Spain Park Football, and all Spain Park Athletics
