The first application is scheduled to be performed on July 24, 2019, weather conditions permitting. The spring rains that have saturated soils throughout the region have dramatically changed the dynamics of mosquitoes in Boone County. With soils completely saturated, the City of Belvidere has been impacted with high numbers of Aedes vexans, or floodwater mosquitoes. The City will be contracting with Clarke to perform the application. This type of treatment is used widely throughout the area for adult mosquito control that is labeled & approved by the USEPA for use in residential & recreational areas. The adult mosquito control application will be performed during the evening hours, between dusk & dawn.
