A Tribute to Florence M. Fodor
Florence M. Fodor passed away peacefully on Friday April 17, 2015. She will join her husband Ben at the Riverside National Cemetery in CA. Florence was born March 19, 1919 in Chicago, IL where she and her husband Ben raised three children: Richard Fodor, CA; Joyce Hepner, Belvidere, IL; & Robert Fodor, FL. Ben’s dream upon retiring was to live in CA where they were able to enjoy 54 years of marriage. Florence moved to Belvidere in 2004 to be closer to her daughter, Joyce. Florence engaged in the community of Belvidere, joining the St. John Church. Florence continued to shovel snow, trim her own bushes and raked her own leaves, when her family encouraged her to move into Shadley Apartments in 2012. In October 2014, Florence moved to Alpine Fireside where she was treated so kindly by the staff and enjoyed her last days. She was described as a very sweet woman by all that knew her. A very special thank you to good friend, Marie Behnke and the neighbors on Glenwood Drive, where the neighbors play cards and look after each other as truly good friends. To all who knew Florence, we know we lost a truly beautiful woman, who always had a welcoming smile. Rest in Peace Florence, you will be missed and never forgotten.
