Welcome to the 2019 Bonnyville & District Oil & Gas Show! The Bonnyville & District Chamber of Commerce is proud to be hosting the 5th biennial show.
The mission of our Chamber is to stimulate and encourage local economic growth for our members through representation, support and promotion. We are gathering the significant oil and gas industry of the region, at the Bonnyville & District Centennial Centre, to showcase our area and highlight the opportunity for growth.
The past few years have been tough for the energy industry, and our members and our community have been dealing with a slowdown in activity. The networking and contacts made during an economic time like this, will prove plentiful as the industry recovers.

On behalf of Town Council and the citizens of Bonnyville, I want to extend a warm welcome to the participants and visitors of the oil and gas show being held in the Town of Bonnyville from June 19 -20, 2019. Being centrally located in the in the heart of Alberta’s heavy oil reserves, Bonnyville is the major oil service centre for the region and we are honoured to host this exciting event and welcome exhibitors and guests from many locations in Alberta.
We would also like to commend the Bonnyville and District Chamber of Commerce for their tireless efforts to bring this show to Bonnyville. Months of research, planning and organizing have taken place for this event to
become a reality and the many volunteers, who worked hard for this major event are to be commended.
The oil and gas industry within the Bonnyville district is an integral part of our economic stability; oil and gas provides the stimulus for this region to grow and prosper. Even though our region is currently experiencing the effects of the reduction in the global demand at the moment, we continue to appreciate efforts of the oil and gas sector to continually strive for ways to improve efficiencies to maintain production.
We recognize that Bonnyville is the hub for the multitude of the oil and gas service providers
and we too, continue to focus our efforts to provide the best atmosphere for continuing investment and growth. Our strategies are designed to provide investment predictability so that our region will continue to enjoy prosperity.
The oil and gas industry has also been instrumental in fostering many community partnerships and sponsorships of many charities and community events in Bonnyville and our region. Without these contributions, these organizations would not be able to carry out their charitable works and events would not be possible.

Industry powers M.D.’s economic engine
The Municipal District of Bonnyville is excited to welcome all 2019 Oil and Gas Show participants to the “Region On The Rise.”
Our M.D. residents benefit immensely from the extensive economic activity that is generated by the oil and gas industry. Not only in terms of well-paying jobs, but also gaining the advantage of an enviable residential tax rate because of our industrial base, and seeing nonprofit community organizations thrive due to the generous donations from oil and gas companies.
The M.D. thoroughly understands the value that resource companies and service industries bring to our region. Council has implemented a property class for small business to reduce the tax burden and is moving towards attaining the mandated 5:1 Non-Residential/ Residential tax ratio. Council recognizes that the current downturn in oil activity has impacted all of our oilfield service providers and we are lobbying both the federal and provincial governments to make policy changes.
Council welcomes new businesses to move into the M.D. Within the municipality, there are large and medium-sized industrial parks that have lots for sale – all strategically positioned throughout the M.D. with good access to major transportation routes. All of our M.D. departments are available to assist in making your business experience in the municipality into a long lasting relationship.
Along with a welcoming atmosphere, the M.D. of Bonnyville also offers an unsurpassed quality of life. Outdoor living is a priority here – you can purchase your dream lake lot, enjoy weekend camping excursions or travel the 300 km multi-use Iron Horse Trail for a glimpse of the rich tapestry of northeastern Alberta’s boreal forest. Beneficiary
All gate proceeds from the Bonnyville Oil & Gas Show will be donated to STARS Air Ambulance. An average of four times a day STARS is called upon to help someone in need. STARS is dedicated to providing a safe, rapid, highly specialized emergency medical transport system for the critically ill and injured.
Now entering the Osum Blue Lounge are today’s contestants, including you (hopefully). Come by our booth, and in this riff on the classic answer and question trivia game, you’ll compete to earn money for local charities, win prizes, and with a little bit of luck hit the Osum Original.
