BIS Grade 11 Biology students spent a day at Bayer laboratories in Leverkusen, investigating methods in bio-technology relating to genetic makeup and health.

Scott Knicely
and his wife moved to Aleppo in August 2011 to teach
at the ICARDA International School of Aleppo. While initially a wonderful experience, things changed forever in February 2012 when a truck bomb was detonated down the street from the school and their residence.
Personal Connection
This marked the beginning of the end for their time in the city, and the start of the cycle of violence that has destroyed much of the UNESCO protected old city and the country of Syria. What was once a magical city now lies in ruins, the lives of its proud inhabitants shattered.
